As the latest entry in the long-running basketball franchise, NBA 2K22 will be releasing later this year. Thanks to a cover athlete reveal and live pre-orders, it's now been announced what bonuses come with NBA 2K22's various editions. For those looking to maximize their in-game rewards ahead of launch, here's everything to know about all the pre-order bonuses.
NBA 2K22 is launching as four different editions. The Standard Edition features Luka Doncic on the cover, while the 75th Anniversary cover features some of NBA's greatest players like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kevin Durant. Meanwhile, the WNBA 25th Anniversary edition - which is a GameStop exclusive - has Candace Parker on the cover, making it the first time a woman has been featured as a cover athlete on any NBA 2K game.
These three editions are available physically; however, a fourth edition - called the Cross-Gen Bundle - is only available digitally. Following the mixed reviews of NBA 2K21, the '22 edition for NBA 2K's series is already incentivizing pre-orders with a lot of bonuses. NBA 2K22 Standard Edition Pre-Order Bonuses
The pre-order bonuses for the Standard Edition of NBA 2K22 are 5,000 Virtual Currency and 5,000 MyTEAM points, as well as 1o MyTEAM promo packs. One promo pack will be delivered each week. Pre-orders for this edition also include a Boost for each MyCAREER Skill type and each Gatorade Boost type. Luka Doncic's MyPLAYER jersey and a 95 rated Luka Doncic MyTEAM Free Agent card round out the bonuses for the Standard Edition.
NBA 2K22 WNBA 25th Anniversary Edition Pre-Order Bonuses
Although WNBA players were finally added in NBA 2K20, Candace Parker has become the first WNBA athlete to actually make it onto a cover. The pre-order bonuses for the WNBA 25th Anniversary edition are identical to those found in the Standard Edition. The primary difference here is the cover athlete, and this edition is also exclusive to GameStop.
NBA 2K22 NBA 75th Anniversary Edition
The NBA 75th Anniversary edition of NBA 2K22 includes the most pre-order bonuses. It has 100,000 Virtual Currency, and 10,000 MyTEAM points. 10 MyTEAM Tokens and 22 MyTEAM promo packs are also part of this version. Ten promo packs are available at launch, and then 3 will be given out each week over the course of four weeks. Sapphire Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kevin Durant MyTEAM player Cards, a Diamond Jordan Shoe MyTEAM card, a Coach Card MyTEAM pack, and 10 Boosts for each Gatorade Boost type and each MyCAREER Skill Boost type are bonuses as well. Four Cover Athlete T-shirts for MyPLAYER characters, a MyPLAYER backpack and arm sleeve, and a custom designed skateboard for MyPLAYER finish up the pre-order bonuses here.
NBA 2K22 Pre-Order Bonuses For Cross-Gen Digital Bundle
The pre-order bonuses for the NBA 2K22 Cross-Gen Digital Bundle includes versions for PS4 and PS5 or for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Otherwise, it features the same pre-order bonuses as the NBA 75th Anniversary Edition. Players who are thinking of buying a current-gen console like PS5 and Xbox Series X may opt for this edition, since they can get two copies of NBA 2K to play across generational platforms. Currently, these are the official pre-order bonuses for all editions of NBA 2K22.
