Nathan Fillion's Castle Stands Strong

The best part about the series however, is that it's successful! The first season of Castle had great ratings which warranted season 2's creation (it premiered last week) and it continues to stand strong in the ratings where it dominated Jay Leno this week with its second episode.

The following is a snippet from the ABC press release yesterday:

“Castle” (10:02-11:00 p.m.)

Producing its strongest “DWTS” retention ever, ABC’s “Castle” topped NBC’s “Jay Leno” by 3.7 million viewers (9.2 million vs. 5.5 million) and by 29% in Adults 18-49 (2.2/6 vs. 1.7/4).

  • “Castle” was up from its week ago season premiere in Women 18-34 (2.1/6 vs. 2.0/6) and Women 18-49 (3.2/9 vs. 3.1/8).

My hopes are that this show lasts long-term and that it helps build Fillion's profile for more roles in feature films. He sure deserves it.

For those who don't know, Fillion's also been active in the video gaming industry where he's voiced a few characters in games such as Jade Empire and Halo 3. More recently, he's not only voiced, but he's the model for the main character in Halo 3: ODST which just hit shelves last week for the X-Box 360. For the Firefly fans out there, joining Fillion are Adam Baldwin and Alan Tudyk who also voice characters in the game.

What do you think of Castle and are you a fan of Nathan Fillion?
