Photo Ark was announced today at the CTAM (Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing) virtual press tour and premieres on Nat Geo WILD on October 17th and 24th. Screen Rant is proud to exclusively debut the trailer for Photo Ark below which hints at the amazing process behind Sartore's work capturing the world's beautiful wildlife, and how he somehow does so in the same format, regardless of what and where:

NAT GEO'S PHOTO ARK SYNOPSIS

In the two-hour PHOTO ARK special, tag along with National Geographic photographer, Fellow, and Founder of the National Geographic Photo Ark Joel Sartore on his quest to use the power of photography to inspire people to save species at risk by photographing every species living in the world's zoos and wildlife sanctuaries. He just recently documented the 10,000th species for the Ark and he’ll go to great lengths to photograph thousands more, even if it means following a giant armadillo into a bathroom! Joel dives deep underwater in the Amazon rainforest and soars more than 12,000-feet, above the tree line in the Colorado Rockies just so he can get the perfect shot and encourage people to care about endangered species before it’s too late. He must constantly adapt his ever-changing “photo studios” and accommodate animals with unpredictable habits to create a connection with audiences around the world, showcasing these species like never before. “It’s the eye contact that moves people,” Sartore explains. “It engages their feelings of compassion and a desire to help.”

To learn more about the amazing work done so far documenting all of the 15,000 species living in the world’s zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, and to track progress in real-time, head to National Geographic's Photo Ark website. Here you can see the species at risk, information on how Nat Geo is trying to help, along with the latest Photo Ark updates.
