In the renowned series Naruto created by Masashi Kishimoto, Kaguya Otsutsuki is a character who can be considered to be the main catalyst triggering the various events and conflicts that take place in both the manga and anime. Belonging to the celestial clan of Otsutsukis, Kaguya is a tyrannical princess corrupted by power, with a lust to conquer and control.

Being the progenitor of all chakra created on Earth, she is the true reason why Shinobis and their various Jutsus exist. Owing to her lineage being from a celestial clan and due to the connection that she shares with the God Tree, Kaguya is truly as powerful as a God, a character even capable of destroying an entire planet.

Divine Powers

Being a celestial being, Kaguya always possessed powers that were beyond comprehension. These included the abilities of interstellar travel, hypnosis, mind-reading abilities, memory-wipe, and creation of force fields and shock waves.

Consumption of the fruit from the God Tree, however, enhanced these abilities exponentially, enabling Kaguya to pacify a pre-shinobi world engulfed in war, single-handedly. She was so powerful and devastating that people started worshiping her as a goddess. Furthermore, her control over the natural world, especially with that of the myriad dimensions created by her, definitely makes Kaguya God-like.

Byakugan, Rinnegan And Sharingan

Kaguya is the ancestor of the Senju clan, Kaguya clan, Uzumaki clan, Hyuga clan, and Uchiha clan. Therefore, it is no surprise that she possesses all of the Kekkei Genkai of all these clans, especially The Three Great Dojutsus of the eyes.

Kaguya, therefore, has access to the Byakugan, a Dojutsu that allows the wielder with unparalleled vision, chakra detection, and aim; the Sharingan, a Dojutsu that allows the wielder to create and deflect illusions, copy techniques of other ninjas, detect chakras and traps and eventually activate the Mangekyo Sharingan; as well as the Rinnegan, a Dojutsu that provides the wielder with godly powers of summoning creatures, controlling gravity, ripping souls, reading minds, killing people, resurrecting people, opening portals, creating phantom clones, and absorbing chakra amongst others.

Rinne Sharingan

Kaguya’s third eye, located on her forehead, distinguished by nine tomoe and multiple concentric circles, also holds the power of the Rinne-Sharingan, a Dojutsu that literally spells out to Samsara, the copy wheel eye. Powered by the Rinne-Sharingan, Kaguya can cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi, a dream-like state where everybody is happy, albeit not in reality.

Using the Rinne-Sharingan, she can also control the God Tree’s roots, and use the same tree to sap out the chakra, personality, and individuality of all those under the influence of the Infinite Tsukuyomi, and convert them into mindless White Zetsus loyal to Kaguya. Her Rinne-Sharingan also grants her the abilities of inter-dimensional travel, the ability to wipe out an enemy's chakra, and the creation of portals and rifts.

Tailed-Beast Transformation

Long back when she had discovered that her sons Hagoromo and Hamura, had inherited chakra from her, Kaguya Otsutsuki merged with the God Tree to give rise to the incredibly powerful Ten-Tails and retake all-chakra for herself; a feat she failed at.

Naruto upon attacking Kaguya with the Sage Art Super Tailed Beast Rasenshuriken, during their final battle that comprised some of the best episodes of Naruto Shippuden; forced her to undergo an unintentional shape-shifting that resulted in her becoming a Ten Tails version that resembled a gigantic rabbit. This happened due to Kaguya’s chakra reacting with that of Naruto’s Rasenshuriken. Although unintentional, it can be understood from this transformation that Kaguya can actually pull off a frightening Tailed Beast Transformation at will, if needed.

Connection With The God Tree

Kaguya has a special relationship with the God Tree of Earth, consuming its fruit and becoming the creator of chakra. Moreover, being the wielder of the Rinne-Sharingan, she can also control the roots of the God Tree and use the same to bind those influenced by the Infinite Tsukuyomi with the God Tree and assimilate their life force with that of the tree.

These victims finally become mindless White Zetsus loyal to Kaguya, devoid of all personality and individuality. The chakra drawn from these victims is also used to rejuvenate Kaguya. She utilizes this power by casting a spell known as the Divine Genesis World of Trees, allowing the roots of the God Tree to erupt from anywhere on the ground all around the world.

Eighty Gods Vaccum Attack

While there are many bad episodes of Naruto Shippudenthose involving Kaguya are definitely an exception, primarily because of the impressive powers she showcases. One such power is her Eighty God Vacuum Attack, born out of her immense control over chakra. This power allows Kaguya to wield chakra in both a defensive and offensive manner. Using this technique Kaguya can materialize an immense amount of chakra and use them to form massive chakra fists.

The technique is so strong that it causes rippling shock waves and can even destroy a full-body Susanoo with relative ease. It is also capable of destroying, a complete Six Paths Chakra Body, thereby making fans wonder whether Naruto’s confrontation with Kaguya was a beatdown he should have never survived.

All-Killing Ash Bones

An absolutely devastating power that Kaguya Otsutsuki possesses is that of the All-Killing Ash Bones. This power allows her to harden her bones and protrude the same through her palms and back, which can then be thrown at the intended target in the form of projectiles. Backed by the accuracy of the Byakugan, Kaguya can use this technique with lethal precision.

Furthermore, anyone who is struck by one of the projectiles has no chance of surviving, because upon being pierced by a bone, the victim, as well as the bone, starts to disintegrate on a molecular level until nothing but an ash-pile is left behind. The death of Obito Uchiha happened via this attack, leading to one of the most heartbreaking moments of the anime.

Expansive Truth-Seeking Ball

While there are many villains in Naruto who deserved a harsher ending, Kaguya got what was coming to her in the end. Maybe the reason for this is the many warped theories she had in her head, one of which even has to do with a devastating power that she possesses. Known as the Expansive Truth-Seeking Ball, Kaguya was able to control a huge orb of black chakra formed using the chakra collected from all those connected with the Shinju.

Composed of Ying-Yang Release, as well as each of the five nature transformations, this huge ball of chaos was intended by Kaguya to be used as a means to obliterate the world into nothing, only to be reshaped at her will. Unlike the traditional Truth-Seeking Balls, Kaguya’s Kekkei Mora could be regenerated from absolutely nothing, yet wielded a power that was beyond anything.

Yomotsu Hirasaka

Yomotsu Hirasaka is an allusion to Shinto mythology, which refers to the gliding pathways that souls take in order to reach the Underworld after death. Kaguya has access to this pathway, using which she opens portals and rifts to various dimensions, especially those created by herself. This ability allows her to connect the real world with these dimensions, enabling her to enjoy absolute control over space.

These rifts and portals can be of any size she deems fit and can remain open for as long as she desires. She even used the same to teleport Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Obito, and Kakashi, a character about whom fans have various questions about; to various dimensions, and to launch simultaneous attacks on them.

Amenominaka

Named after Amenominakanushi, the first-born God in Shinto mythology, Amenominaka is a power that allows Kaguya Otsutsuki to create new dimensions on the fly and teleport herself, as well as anything or anyone else along with her to that dimension.

Having complete control over the individual elements in these created dimensions; Kaguya enjoys absolute godlike power in them. Moreover, once trapped in one, it is very hard to escape these dimensions and return to the real world. The anime only shows six dimensions, but Kaguya can definitely create more if she desires.
