Distant and brooding, Sasuke is driven to improve his ninja skills and exact revenge for the death of his clan. Remarkably, it is this dark and angsty attitude that makes the Naruto character surprisingly likable and a favorite among cosplayers.
Some find that it can get boring if they constantly impersonate the optimistic hero of an anime and that a better challenge for them is to channel the gloom and menace of the antihero. With his distinct dark hair, cool-tone outfits, and changing dojutsu eyes, Sasuke is a dream for any costume aficionado to replicate.
Shadow Hound
While the fox is more commonly associated with Naruto, Brazilian cosplayer Anni offers up a refreshing take on Sasuke by giving him his own canine look. While the midnight black hair is not as stylized as the original design, the pierced dog ears accentuate Sasuke's rebellious attitude.
The red and black jacket symbolizes his time with the Akatsuki while the crimson contacts and curse makeup perfectly illustrates the dark power he is capable of. The slightly unhinged look indicates that Sasuke is losing his grip at this point.
Dark Lightning
One of Sasuke's signature fighting abilities is his use of lightning chakra, where the bolts are darker if used with his cursed seal. Jenn Druchniak captures this shadowy power with her cosplay design. While the wig is more indigo than black, it perfectly depicts Sasuke's style.
The costume is spot on for the early attire of the young Uchiha, with a high-collar navy shirt and white shorts. The lightning effect in the photo seems to be actively crackling, while the snarling expression and curse makeup on the whole left side let everyone know Sasuke is out to destroy.
Sword Of Kusanagi
After being trained by the popular Naruto villain Orochimaru, Sasuke begins carrying a Sword of Kusanagi which uses his to channel his lightning chakra. Cal incorporates this sword into their costume of a Shippuden-era Sasuke. Just like the anime, the blade is thin with an Uchiha clan symbol on its hilt.
The white shirt, blue pants, and lilac rope belt of the outfit are an ideal representation. While the obsidian wig is not as spiky as other Sasuke cosplays, its subtleness is a nice complement to the blood-red contacts.
Somber Shinobi
Considering what has been through in his young life, it is understandable that Sasuke tends to act moody. Cosplayer Kawaii nails this attitude with her depiction.
Along with the signature navy and white costume, there is also the Hidden Leaf Village headband that Sasuke commonly wears across his forehead as a younger shinobi. The front bangs of the sable hair are spot on with the anime design, while the eyes focus on Sasuke's natural black rather than his scarlet Sharingan.
Uchiha Lady
In accordance with many genderbending cosplays, the portrayal of Sasuke that artist Petite puts forth is an elegant female version. Instead of the usual short spikes, the ebony hair is longer yet still has a choppy style.
The ivory kimono top is fitting for this variation, and the black stripes on the side of the face are a great illustration of the cursed seal. This Lady Sasuke is showing off her Sharingan with rose-red contacts and lovely lipstick to match.
Rogue Wanderer
After betraying the Hidden Leaf Village in the Naruto anime, Sasuke becomes a wandering criminal with little companionship. Portuguese cosplayer Rocky nails this solitary disposition with their interpretation of the character.
With the slim Sword of Kusanagi latched on with the lavender rope belt, this Sasuke wears a light grey shirt with the Uchiha clan crest on the back. A giant raven sits on his left hand, giving the loner Sasuke some temporary company. With a perfectly styled crow-black wig, the Uchiha clan survivor has an unusually calm expression on his face.
Serpent Of Sharingan
Thanks to his alliance with Orochimaru, another animal that Sasuke learns to summon is the snake. Russian cosplayer Tellaryen manages to include a milk-white serpent in their representation of the wayward warrior.
This pale reptile wraps around Sasuke's signature thin blade as the ninja stares down his opponent with the carmine red eyes that make up his Sharingan. The pitch-black hair is on point with the initial character design, while the rope belt element of the costume is a darker violet than usually depicted.
Indra's Inheritor
Sasuke is one of the two Children of Prophecy who are destined to save the world, being the reincarnation of the demigod Indra Otsutsuki. Cosplayer iShinobi Studios shows how powerful this entity can be with his ensemble.
Opting to go without the usual white top, this costume instead uses the Akatsuki robe with the dark blue bottoms and rope belt to represent Sasuke's temporary allegiance with the rogue clan. The effect of the lightning chakra is amplified to the max, as it is a technique that both Sasuke and Indra specialize in.
Young And Vengeful
Sasuke always has an extreme focus on avenging his clan, even when he is a young shinobi still learning his craft. Cosplayer Soldier captures this intensity with his costume.
The overall look is a precise replica of Sasuke's first outfit in the anime, with the exact same cobalt shirt and open-toed sandals. The onyx black wig features both the front strands and back spikes, with the signature headband completing the gear. The ruby-red contacts even have the three black dots of the Uchiha clan's Sharingan.
