Screen Rant is thrilled to announce the first-ever Nancy Drew action figure, which Wandering Planet Toys is launching through Kickstarter. Having previously scored a hit with similarly retro figures based on the 1967 cult classic series, The Prisoner, the company is now branching out with the infamous teenage girl detective. Co-founded by animation writers Chris “Doc” Wyatt (Marvel's Rocket & Groot) and Gavin Hignight (Transformers: Cyberverse), Wandering Planet seeks to delight collections with figures they never imagined being made.

Having been around since 1930, it's only fitting that Nancy Drew finally gets her chance to shine in action figure form. She first appeared in the long-running Nancy Drew Mystery Stories, which were all published by Stratemeyer Syndicate under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene. The classic novels consist of 175 stories, but the young detective has been reborn and rebranded a number of times, joining forces with her male counterparts The Hardy Boys and more before Simon & Schuster took over publishing in 1979.

Nancy Drew has not only been the subject of various book series but also of movie and television adaptations, the most recent of which is CW's 2019 Nancy Drew series that stars Kennedy McMann in a modernized adaptation that moves the detective to adulthood. There have also been video games starring the character, comic books about her adventures, and even board games and dress-up dolls. And now, thanks to Wandering Planet and their licensing from Simon & Schuster, there will finally be an action figure that reflects the magic of the original Nancy Drew detective novels.

Wandering Planet's new Kickstarter campaign features 4-inch retro-style collectible figures based on the classic Nancy Drew book cover art by Rudy Nappi. Screen Rant's exclusive photo comes from her first mystery story, The Secret of the Old Clock, and has Nancy in her iconic green dress alongside the necessary accessories to search for Josiah Crowley's will. But there are multiple tiers available in Wave 1, each based on a different classic novel with its respective outfit and accessories.
