Wes has brought martinis for guest judges, along with trophies (that he always forgets) and baking stand mixers to the contestants, all while wearing a ridiculous costume. Wes, whose real name is Weston, is actually the stage manager and the associate director of the competitive baking show. His sudden rise to fame wasn't intentional, and it was Nicole who played a role in making him front and center. In an interview with Vulture, Nicole and pastry chef/judge Jacque Torres explained how "Wes" came about. "I think Nicole made Wes. Nicole somehow got this idea of calling Wes all the time," Jacque explained. Nicole added more depth saying, "...They were like, 'And Wes is going to bring in the trophy.' And I was like, 'Then where is he? Where's Wes?' Then it became a thing. Now I just abuse it." The Wes bit took off from there, and Nailed It! fans don't mind. "He is a good-looking guy and everybody likes to look at him. Am I correct?" said Jacque.
Wes Has A Successful Wife & A Cute Family
Many Nailed It! fans have developed googly eyes for Wes and constantly ask about his relationship status. Unfortunately, Wes, who works with Nailed It! host Nicole, is married. His wife's name is Jessica, and she is a TV producer who has worked on Top Chef, among other shows. The two got married in 2016 and have a daughter named Rowan, and they currently reside in Pasadena, California. Wes always shows Jess on his Instagram and gives his fans a sneak peek into their romantic adventures. When Wes appeared on Nicole's Why Don't You Date Me? podcast, he said he didn't mind the rise in followers, but he has been receiving graphic, unsolicited messages in his DMs.
On Nicole's podcast, he also wanted everyone to know he is actually good at his job. "It's funny. It's weird and embarrassing. Especially because the first and second season, the entire gag is that I'm terrible at my job." Working on Nailed It! is only a snippet of the work he has done. He has also produced several other shows and has credits in the sound department as well. Wes' silent charm has become a staple to the Nailed It! series.
