Nailed It!, the baking competition show on Netflix, hosted by Nicole Byer, combines the cooking comforts of The Great British Baking Show with the chaos of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares and a whole lot of laughter. Nailed It! has only grown in popularity since its first season dropped with little fanfare in 2018, and over the course of four seasons (plus two holiday special seasons), the show has become a fan favorite, with inspired multiple international versions, all of which can be found on Netflix.
Inspired by an internet meme, Nailed It! follows three amateur bakers as they try to recreate overly complicated recipes for the chance to win $10,000. The results are almost always a total mess, but the joy of the series comes from the self-awareness that everyone involved has while failing together in such an obviously silly manner. Well-known celebrity guest judges have included Maya Rudolph, Adam Scott, and gymnast Gabby Douglas, and the fierce five of Queer Eye even joined the show for a special episode. Nailed It!'s previous four seasons proved that there is endless fun to be mined from watching baking fails.
The fourth season dropped on April 1 and included challenges as ridiculous as making deep-fried cowboy-duck doughnuts, edible ice cream boomboxes made with liquid nitrogen, and a cake designed to look like a sphinx. Nailed It! has been averaging about two new seasons a year, so when can we expect a fifth season?
Nailed It! Season 5 Renewal
Nailed It! has not yet been renewed for a fifth season. However, fans need not worry as it seems all but guaranteed that a renewal announcement will come eventually. The show is popular with viewers, cheap to produce (especially when compared to behemoths like The Crown), and relatively easy to make. The show steadily churns out new seasons with refreshing regularity and there's no sign that things will stop now.
Nailed It! Season 5 Release Date
There was a gap of eleven months between the third and fourth seasons of Nailed It!, as well as between the second and third seasons, so fans might expect a fifth season somewhere in March 2021. However, with the ongoing delays caused by the COVID-19, or the coronavirus, pandemic, it is possible that Nailed It! might be released later. While a production like Nailed It! wouldn't be as laborious to put on compared to some reality shows, nor would it last as long, there's little chance it is unaffected by the current crisis.

The holiday seasons are part of what makes Nailed It! special, thanks to their festive chaos and the sheer joy of watching harried bakers, including comedian Paul Scheer, try to make holiday-themed creations while everything falls apart around them. No prior announcement of the holiday season’s renewal has been made, and whether or not Netflix sticks with a release schedule that included Nailed It! Holiday specials in 2018 and 2019 may depend on the coronavirus. Once reality returns to normal, reality TV shows like Nailed It! can continue to delight fans with exquisite professional cakes and their failed amateur counterparts.
