Halloween is almost here, and Pokémon GO is celebrating by providing players with a Special Research for Yamask and Galarian Yamask. To celebrate the season, ghost types like Phantump are currently everywhere in Pokémon Go, and there are plenty of wild encounters, raids, and objectives with a distinctly haunted theme. One of these is the Mysterious Mask Special Research, where the player can help Rhi and Professor Willow learn more about Yamask Pokémon and receive rewards along the way.

The Mysterious Mask Special Research has no end date, but it will go away when Pokémon Go updates itself with November content, so players should complete it as soon as possible. The Halloween event ends at 10:00 am local time on November 1st, and players have until then to complete the four Steps, each with three individual tasks, and claim the rewards. There's nothing too complicated about these tasks, and the rewards are a nice bonus for just playing the game. The chance for a shiny Yamask or Galarian Yamask in Pokémon Go is just a plus.

There are plenty of Ghost-types to get, like Zorua in Pokémon Go, so the tasks related to catching Ghost-types will be easy for players to knock out. Players should already have plenty of experience throwing Curveballs and making Nice Throws. It will also be surprising if they don't have 49 berries in stock to help catch Pokémon. The only tricky part may be having friends to give gifts to, but Pokémon Go is a very pro-social game, so it should be simple enough for a player to find others to make friends with, even if it's purely for the task. And once they've finished this Special Research, there's plenty more for them to do during Pokémon Go's Halloween event.
