Developer Panthea Games is releasing the sequel to their mega-crafting sim, My Time At Portia, later this year. Titled My Time At Sandrock, it will feature many of the same things from its predecessor, primarily focusing on the series' niche: crafting and building. But it will also expand upon other mechanics from the first game, such as exploring, socializing, and even cooking.

Before players jump into Sandrock, they ought to give Portia a try, with over several hours worth of content promised in just the main campaign alone. There are a plethora of things to do, but one of the main draws of the game for players is the ability to befriend (and even romance) their fellow Portians. A major way of doing this is cooking and gifting their favorite meals - the easiest of which are listed below.

Bamboo Papaya With Egg On Top

This dish requires only three simple ingredients: an egg, some salt, and the titular bamboo papaya. Both eggs and bamboo papaya can be collected on the player's property, via raising chickens and cultivating bamboo papaya seeds. But in the event the player doesn't want to do that, they can easily buy eggs at the ranch next door for cheap, and bamboo papayas are easy to find out in the world.

Salt, too, is easy to get, as well as cheap. Overall, this dish is an easy crowd-pleaser, and it costs next to nothing.

Apple Juice

Truly a no-brainer, apple juice only requires one ingredient: apples! Lots of Portians like this drink, making it an easy gift to give out on peoples' birthdays - especially if players have already grown an apple tree on their property, which expedites the process even further. Even if they don't have an apple tree, there are apple trees all over the map, leaving endless opportunities for juicing.

The only catch is that, in order to make it, players must first have crafted a blender. But after reaching a certain point in the game's prologue, it will take no time at all to make.

Salad

There are two types of salad to make in this game: fruit salad, and vegetable salad. The former requires only two pieces of fruit, while the latter requires two pieces of lettuce. Both are coupled with salad sauce, which can be made using eggs and sugar in the blender.

They are both fairly simple dishes to make, as well as popular enough to be requested by the same people monthly (such as Antoine and Emily). This makes them crucial for raising the players' popularity as quickly as possible!

Roasted Meat

This meal is so easy to make, it's sometimes given out as a gift after a sparring match. All the same, the player will likely accumulate a lot of meat throughout their playthrough, what with all the enemies roaming the map - so they may as well put it to good use.

Along with meat, this dish can be made with salt, making it one of the most inexpensive dishes to make in the game. As well as this, the tool used to make it - a grill - is one of the easiest cooking tools to craft.

Roasted Pork With Honey

More or less, this dish is a fancier version of the former, but it yields more approval with the townies, so it's worth the extra effort. It requires two pieces of meat, a sweetener, and a piece of fruit. In other words, it's the perfect dish for a player who prefers scavenging above all else, as the meat can be easily hunted, the sweetener can be honey taken from trees, and the fruit can be whatever the player manages to find.

Strangely enough, this dish yields the most approval with the town pig, QQ.

Classic Spaghetti With Meat Sauce

The Supremely Spicy Spaghetti dish in My Time At Portia.

One of the most popular bachelors in the game is the adventure-loving Arlo, and he is all about spaghetti. Therefore, if players plan to romance him, they have to learn this recipe, which is by far the easiest spaghetti recipe to make.

The ingredients are fairly simple to gather. Players only need one piece of meat, then some flour and a side ingredient. Flour can be bought for a low price at the ranch, while the side ingredients are fairly simple, ranging from herbs that can be found in the wild to just plain old eggs.

Meatballs and Vegetable Soup

Described as a common family dish, this soup only requires a single piece of meat and a single vegetable of the players' choice, making it one of the easiest dishes to make on the go. It isn't especially popular within the town, but it's not exactly unpopular, either. This makes it a safe choice if players aren't sure what to get for their favorite townie's birthday.

But on the bright side, if players really want to impress Scraps, the street dog, this dish is a great way to go.

Tasteless Broth

In the same vein as the last dish, this one isn't remarkable by any means, but it gets the job done, and it impresses the dog quite a bit. All it requires is a piece of meat and a random seasoning - which can be as simple as sugar, or as obscure as cinnamon.

Either way, even if they are as tasteless as they come, these two dishes are crucial if the player wants to quickly befriend Scraps. Doing so will result in him abandoning his vagabond lifestyle and moving in with them.

Creamy Salmon Stew

While the name of this dish might sound intimidating, it's actually quite simple to make. Players must first go fishing and catch a Golden Salmon, which spawn year-round, and then cook it with some milk and a dash of light seasoning. The milk can be bought at the ranch or acquired from the player's own cows, while the light seasoning can either be bought or found in the wild.

This dish is definitely a winner amongst the townies, especially if the player ends up catching an Emperor Golden Salmon!

Tasteless Stew Mix

Of course, beginning players only have so much access to the best ingredients, so if a player is ever feeling curious and a little frustrated at their lack of resources, they could always experiment with this dish. All it requires is five different ingredients that can be mixed in any order, as long as they're different.

Some combinations work - others do not. The point with this dish is to have fun and make do with what the player has. And if they succeed, thankfully nobody in town really hates the dish. Except for Pinky the cat...but then again, she hates most dishes.
