Patrick Stewart will lend his voice as narrator to the upcoming side-scrolling adventure game My Memory Of Us. Stewart will narrate the game's story, which takes place during the Holocaust of World War II.

My Memory Of Us will allow players to step into the shoes of two children, a boy and a girl, caught up in a war as they face the threat of separation due to the Holocaust. Set in Warsaw, Poland, the two children must use their wits and skills to try to stay together and survive their country's occupation by the German Nazis. Players will have the chance to play each child, although there are also opportunities to play both at the same time throughout gameplay. My Memory Of Us will launch on October 9 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It will arrive on the Nintendo Switch later in the year.

Game publisher IMGN.Pro made a post on the game's Steam community about Stewart's involvement with the game. The publisher noted the actor's many accomplishments during his acting career, including his work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, as well highlighting his role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation and his portrayal of Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men film franchise. Mikołaj Pawłowski, CEO of Juggler Games, said of the game:

“The story of My Memory of Us is a personal one to us, as our grandparents faced similar oppression [during] World War II. This game is our ode to them and the millions of others who lived and died during this time. So when it came time to cast a narrator, Patrick Stewart was the perfect choice. His amazing acting career spans nearly six decades, and since the very beginning he has produced incredible and emotional work. His talent and skill provides the right mixture of gravitas and hope, and his performance resonates perfectly with our game.”

This isn't the first time Stewart has offered his voice to a video game. Not only has he reprised his role as Captain Picard in several Star Trek-related titles, but players can also hear his voice on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone, The Sims Medieval and Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos. Most recently, Stewart voiced Emperor Uriel Septim in The Elder Scrolls: IV: Oblivion, which earned him a Spike TV Video Game Award.

It is Stewart's role as Captain Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation, though, that people are most familiar with. That role was so iconic it prompted CBS to recently announce Picard would soon get a new series on All Access, bringing back one of Star Trek's most popular characters. Although Stewart's illustrious acting career spans decades, it is his return to the role that made him famous fans seem to want the most.

My Memory Of Us already has some buzz about it, considering its subject matter. The "grotesque tale mixed with bittersweet" humor should strike an emotional chord with gamers, especially with narration by someone as legendary and talented as Stewart.
