One of the greatest arguments in the biggest fandoms tends to revolve around shipping, where fans imagine a relationship between two (or more) characters. The bigger and more involved the fandom, the more variety of ships there are in it. For My Hero Academia, there are a lot of ships for an audience to make content.

While most fan-created relationships are unlikely to occur in the show, some ships cross the boundaries of being weird and in some rare cases downright illegal. Unfortunately, some of the wildest ships in the world of My Hero Academia tend to be just that sort of boundary-crossing.

All Might x All For One

The rivalry between the two characters remains one of the strongest elements of the show and their battle scenes are unparalleled. While it's not uncommon for the Enemies to Lovers trope to weave its way into the foundations of a ship, this one has tip-toed too far into the unbelievable.

While the age difference is thankfully legal, former Number 1 Hero, All Might is thought to be somewhere in his 50s, while All For One is assumed to be well over 100. Even without that; the deep routed hatred and desperate desire to kill each other wouldn't be the greatest start to a romantic relationship between the two.

Mineta x Anyone

Mineta peeping in My Hero Academia

While this may seem unfair, Mineta receives an enormous backlash of negative attention due to his character's main personality trait seemingly being the need to harass his female classmates. While this is a trope common in anime, many MHA fans would prefer to see Mineta gone from the series.

For this reason, most fandom members steer clear of shipping him with anyone to the point of the only widely accepted ship that he's a part of being Mineta x Death. However, there are always outliers and a small collection of fans have taken to shipping him with characters such as Midoriya or Yaoyorozu.

Shigaraki x Midoriya

Similar to All Might x All For One, this ship likely came from the same romanticized idea; two enemies coming together through a forbidden romance. To Western audiences, the age difference is questionable with the main character Deku in the latest series being around 16 and Shigaraki 21.

Again, the rivalry between the two would certainly cause complications to say the least. While there are very dedicated fans of the potential romance between the pair, there's a lot of animosity there that would make it difficult to see the pair in any sort of romantic context.

Tsuyu x Selkie

Tsuyu rides Selkie in My Hero Academia

Selkie, the humanoid spotted seal hero, first made an appearance in My Hero Academia in season 2, taking on Tsuyu as an intern during her work-study placement. It may be due to the fact that Selkie has only really appeared alongside Tsuyu that led to the birth of the ship.

Unfortunately, it is unclear whether this is a true ship or more of a "crack ship", a ship that shouldn't be taken seriously. Either way, between the age difference between the two characters, the lack of development of Selkie's character, and more, the ship just comes off as odd more than anything else.

Midoriya x Endeavor

Izuku confronts Endeavor

A controversial character among fans, Endeavor, All Might's successor as the current number 1 hero, has found himself intertwined with a surprising number of character's when it comes to ships. The wildest one of all seems to be with protagonist Midoriya, although another popular niche pairing seems to be Endeavor x Kirishima.

Again, the age difference between a middle-aged hero and teenage high school students must be brought up. However, Endeavor has also been abusive to his children, especially in regard to his youngest child, Shouto.

Aizawa x Class 1-A

My hero academia Aizawa classroom

This luckily isn't in reference to Aizawa having a romantic/sexual relationship with the entirety of his homeroom hero class, but the popular student/teacher trope hasn't left UA untainted. In canon, Aizawa is very fond of his homeroom class, but not to the point of having a romance with any of them.

However, some fans have taken this a step further and paired the Erasure hero with seemingly almost anyone in Class 1-A, from Deku to Bakugo, Tsuyu to Todorki, and sometimes his new apprentice Shinso. No matter the character, this abuse of a position of power over a teenager certainly doesn't hold up well.

All Might x Midoriya

Izuku stands with All Might in My Hero academia.

Another problematic teacher/student combination, this pairing stands out due to its popularity amongst some of the fan community, which is unlike most other entries on this list.

In canon, All Might and Midoriya are both very fond and have great admiration of each other, which many take to mean a father-son relationship. However, some fans have taken this foundation and built a whole new side to All Might and Deku's relationship.

Todoroki x Endeavor

My Hero Academia - Endeavor hugging Shoto

Straight away, this shouldn't require an explanation for how it's ended up on this list. A frayed (at best) relationship between an abusive father and his son, in no sane world, should be a good basis for a romantic relationship of any kind, however, a small portion of fans seem to disagree.

Even without the element of incest, this is a ship teeming with way too many issues to unpack, especially given the abusive role Endeavor played in Shoto's early life. This gives it plenty of reasons for fans to steer clear of it.

Eri x Overhaul

My Hero Academia Season 4 Overhaul Eri

Yes, this does in fact exist. At the heart of My Hero's fourth season is Overhaul, a through and through villain who is abusing the power of a young child for his own malicious gain. Again, abuse is never a good foundation for a relationship but more than that this is a ship that pairs an adult with a literal child. Far from the only ship that Eri is involved in, she is also sometimes paired with Midoriya, Togata, and Aizawa, essentially the characters that she has meaningful interactions.

Despite the fact that she is sometimes aged up in these pairings, it still doesn't take away the immorality of the dynamic. It doesn't need saying, but this ship is illegal and wrong in every way.

Nomu x Midoriya

It should be safe to assume that this is a crack ship, otherwise, some members of the My Hero Academia fandom may need to seriously re-evaluate their behavior.

Midoriya isn't the only character that seems to have fallen into being paired with the brainless and emotionless Nomu, but he seems to be the most popular. Given that the Nomu are products of illegal experimentation and torture, made to obey rather than be their own people, it's a ship that is truly the stuff of nightmares for most in the fandom.
