In My Hero Academia, the main characters are all training to answer the question: who is the top Pro Hero of them all? They dream of being the best of the best and fighting for the top spot as the Number One Hero. In My Hero Academia's hero society world, that ranking is definitively decided by the Hero Billboard Chart JP.

Previously holding the coveted Number One Hero position was, of course, All Might, who has since been replaced by the flame hero and father of Class 1-A member Shoto Todoroki, Endeavor. But who are the lesser-known Pro Heroes who've made it into the Top 10? Thanks to official Hero Rankings delivered in season 4, episode 24, My Hero Academia confirmed the top Pro Hero spots. Rankings beyond the top 10, however, are a bit harder to come by, so here are the top 10 and the 5 highest known ranks outside of that.

15 Normal Hero: Manual

First Appearance: Episode 28, "Midoriya And Shigaraki"

Manual is actually ranked #222, but is one of the few known heroes with an established rank. Manual first appears as the pro hero who Ida interns under during the Hero Killer Stain arc, but goes on to play a crucial role in the Paranormal Liberation War, working with Aizawa to cancel the enemy's Quirks. Manual's Quirk allows him to control and create small amounts of water, which made it possible for him to keep Aizawa's eyes moist without blinking. Manual is a bit lacking in self-esteem, but his power proved essential.

14 The BMI Hero: Fat Gum

First Appearance: Episode 68, "Let's Go, Gutsy Red Riot!"

Fat Gum is the rank #58 hero, based out of Osaka. Fat Gum's Quirk, Fat Absorption, allows him to absorb impacts on his body into the fat that surrounds him, as well as absorb the kinetic energy. Fat Gum can use this energy himself to become stronger at the cost of burning away his fat rapidly. This Quirk gives Fat Gum incredible defensive abilities and makes it possible for him to absorb people in need of rescue. Fat Gum often plays a role in larger hero operations and helped train Tamaki Amajiki and Eijiro Kirishima during their Work Study.

13 Mineyama Hero: Mt. Lady

First Appearance: Episode 1, "Izuku Midoriya: Origin"

Mount Lady is the rank #23 hero, who possesses the Gigantification Quirk, which allows her to grow to massive size. At the beginning of the series, it was established that Mount Lady was a new hero on the scene, so her climb to rank #23 was exceptional. Mount Lady's Gigantification Quirk often makes her a good choice for dealing with massive enemies, such as Gigantomachia, meaning that she's left with one of the more difficult jobs. Mount Lady is a bit vain, however, and had a particular rivalry with Midnight, another female hero who similarly played up her looks.

12 Lion Hero: Shishido

First Appearance: Episode 103, "One Thing at a Time"

Shishido sits at rank #13, placing him quite high in the hero rankings despite his small amount of screen time. He has the Quirk known as Lion, which gives him the strength and speed of a lion. Shishido is said to have an intense rivalry with Gang Orca, but not to the extent that the two heroes are unable to work together when the situation demands it. Shishido also took on students for their Hero Work Study assignments, working with Mashirao Ojiro, Rikido Sato, Juroto Shishida, and Nirengeki Shoda to help them develop their hero skills.

11 Whale Hero: Gang Orca

First Appearance: Episode 46, "From Ida to Midoriya"

Gang Orca is the rank #12 pro hero and is often involved in mentoring students. His Quirk, Orcinus, gives him the abilities of an Orca whale, including the ability to create hypersonic blasts that can disorient enemies. Gang Orca is known for looking pretty scary, but he's actually a reasonable guy who's a bit sensitive about his appearance. Gang Orca was formerly ranked #10, but his ranking was adjusted when All Might retired, making room for new faces. While he has a reputation for being strict, the truth is that Gang Orca has high expectations for those he mentors.

10 Dragon Hero: Ryukyu

First Appearance: Episode 68, "Let's Go, Gutsy Red Riot!"

The 10th in Pro Hero Rankings is Ryuko Tatsuma, known as Dragon Hero: Ryukyu. One of the anime's more familiar heroes, Ryukyu worked alongside Uravity, Froppy, and Nejire during their internships, appearing predominantly in two of My Hero's best arcs the Shie Hassaaikai Arc and the Endeavour Agency Arc. Her quirk, Dragon, gives her the ability to transform into a dragon. This gives her the use of wings and claws as well as superhuman strength and durability. This powerful quirk meant she climbed to the position of Number 9, but dropped down to Number 10 in the most recent rankings.

9 Equipped Hero: Yoroi Musha

First Appearance: Episode 87, "Japanese Hero Billboard Chart"

This Number 9 Ranked Pro Hero hasn't been seen too much in the anime, but his character design, one resembling Japanese armor and his strong presence, make him memorable. This Pro Hero has only appeared so far in the anime during the semi-annual ranking broadcast. Previously ranked as the Number 8 Pro Hero, Yoroi Musha's quirk has yet to be revealed, so not much is known about this high-ranking hero, despite his established popularity in the show. Yoroi Musha ended up retiring due to the backlash against heroes after the Paranormal Liberation War, meaning he's no longer in the rankings.

8 Laundry Hero: Wash

First Appearance: Episode 87, "Japanese Hero Billboard Chart"

A character who is severely underused in the anime is the weird and quirky Pro Hero, Susugu Mitarai, more commonly known by his Hero name, Wash. As the Number 8 Pro Hero, Wash's quirks aren't just useful for everyday life. In fact, they're more adept for crime-fighting than fans originally thought. Wash's quirk, Clean Bubbler, gives this Pro the ability to create and control soapy water. He can also produce a strong and powerful steam that can hold several people in the air as well produce large bubbles that can envelop his targets, keeping them afloat.

7 Kamui Woods

First Appearance: Episode 1, "Izuku Midoriya: Origin"

Shinji Nishiya, better known as Kamui Woods, appeared in the very first episode of the anime, fighting the first villain who appears in the street while Midoriya watches on the sidelines. Also memorable for his tree-like appearance, Kamui Wood's quirk is Arbor. His quirk allows him to extend and enlarge the wooden parts of his body, forming them into long tree branches and giving him control over them. Due to their nature, this gives him excellent binding uses for capturing villains. With a strong quirk, it is easy to see why Kamui is ranked Number 7.

6 Shield Hero: Crust

First Appearance: Episode 87, "Japanese Hero Billboard Chart"

In the Number 6 Pro Hero position is the Shield Hero, Crust. Crust plays a critical role in the early phases of the Paranormal Liberation War, saving Aizawa's life at the cost of his own. Crust's quirk, Shield, lets him produce hexagon-shaped shields from his body, using them to protect both himself and others around him. This quirk allowed him to control the size and direction of the shields. This defensive quirk also has its own attacking capabilities though, with pieces of the shield able to be detached and thrown as a weapon.

5 Rabbit Hero: Mirko

First Appearance: Episode 87, "Japanese Hero Billboard Chart"

Rumi Usagiyama, better known by her hero name Mirko is the current Number 5 Pro Hero, according to the Hero Billboard. Another hero to make her first appearance during the ranking episode, Mirko has been given more attention, likely due to her character's appearance, despite her lack of screentime.

Mirko's quirk, Rabbit, gives her, as one would expect, the abilities of a rabbit. Because of this, she has incredible leg strength and can jump or kick with powerful force. She also has enhanced hearing abilities and a protective animal instinct that alerts her to any incoming danger. Mirko's infamous rampage through the Nomu laboratory at the beginning of season 6 is one of My Hero Academia's most hyped scenes.

4 Ninja Hero: Edgeshot

First Appearance: Episode 46, "From Ida to Midoriya"

Shinya Kamihara, known by his hero name, Edgeshot was the previous Number 5 Pro before moving up to being the Number 4 Pro Hero. First appearing in season 3, fans may be more familiar with this Pro than others. This Ninja themed hero's quirk, Foldabody, allows Edgeshot to contort his body to become extremely long and thin, similar to a piece of string. Able to transform faster than the speed of sound, Edgeshot becomes razor-sharp once transformed, allowing him to effectively attack targets and pierce them, as well as move around quickly and fit into small spaces.

3 Fiber Hero: Best Jeanist

First Appearance: Episode 27, "Bizarre! Gran Torino Appears"

Previous Number 4 and current Number 3 Pro Hero, Tsunagu Hakamada, more commonly known as Best Jeanist, is one of the more recurring and prominent Pro Heroes in the series, first making a full appearance when taking on Bakugo for his internship and appearing repeatedly since to help out during battles against villains. His unconventional quirk, Fiber Master, gives him the ability to manipulate any nearby fabric but works most effectively on denim. This allows him to control his own clothing as well as the clothing of those fighting against him, attacking or restraining them.

2 Wing Hero: Hawks

First Appearance: Episode 87, "Japanese Hero Billboard Chart"

Keigo Takami, otherwise known as Hawks, is the former Number 3 Hero and current Number 2 Pro. Only making his first full appearance in the season 4 ranking episode, Hawks has since become a major character in terms of both plot and fan response.

Hawks' quirk, Fierce Wings, means that he was born with a large pair of red wings. His quirk furthermore grants him the ability to control the movement of each feather telekinetically. This versatile quirk gives him the ability to fly as well as separate the feathers to shoot as attacking projectiles, hardening them into blades. A complex but powerful quirk, earning him the Number 2 Hero spot with ease.

1 Flame Hero: Endeavor

First Appearance: Episode 17, "Strategy, Strategy, Strategy"

As expected, controversial father Enji Todoroki, also known as the flaming hero Endeavor, secured the top Number 1 Hero spot after All Might's retirement, moving from his previous position as Number 2. After first making an appearance in the second season of the anime during the Sports Festival Arc, Endeavor has since become a strong character in the show.

Endeavor's quirk, Hellflame, gives him the ability to produce and control flames from his body. Controlling the temperature and the intensity of the flames, he can shape them to form weapons to attack villains or make a mustache appear on his face. Despite all of his faults, Endeavor still reigns supreme as My Hero Academia's #1 hero.
