She’s one of the most popular villains in My Hero Academia, but how old is Toga? Award-winning manga and anime series My Hero Academia is set in a world in which around 80% of the human population possess superpowers known as “Quirks,” which results in the majority of society being divided into two categories: heroes and villains. Heroes use their quirks for the common good and face a constant battle with the villains who conversely use their superpowers for nefarious ends.

Himiko Toga is one of the many villains in the long-running series My Hero Academia. She was first introduced in Chapter 57 of Kōhei Horikoshi’s original manga, as well as in episode 31 (AKA “The Aftermath Of Hero Killer: Stain”) of the Bones-produced anime series as one of the newest members of the League of Villains. This is an organization made up of the world’s most powerful villains whose singular goal is to destroy everything the story's heroes stand for.

My Hero Academia's Toga possesses a distinctly vampiric quirk known as “Transform” that allows her to assume both the appearance and powers, aka quirk, of another person by ingesting their blood – something which she achieves thanks to her impressive arsenal of knives as well as a blood-sucking machine she wears like a backpack. Toga is something of a Yandere character too, in as much as she seems cute and unassuming but has some psychotic tendencies beyond just her preoccupation with other people’s blood, such as developing rather obsessive crushes on the various objects of her affection. Since her manga and anime debut, Toga has established herself as one of My Hero Academia’s best-loved villains – but exactly how old is Toga?

Himiko Toga backstory

An omake in volume 24 of Kōhei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia UA manga features a profile of Himiko Toga that reveals she is just 17 years old. This profile also highlights some other facts about Toga including her birthday (August 7), her height (157 cm), and her favorite things — which oddly include blood and pomegranates. Previously unseen profiles of other My Hero Academia villains were also featured in this volume, including Jin Bubaigawara (AKA Twice), who is confirmed as 31 years old and enjoys smoking cigarettes.

My Hero Academia Volume 24 also allows some insight into Himiko Toga’s past. In chapter 226 (“Bloody Love”), a flashback to Toga’s youth reveals her parents found her Transform Quirk unsettling and subsequently encouraged her to suppress her power, resulting in Toga wishing she could be a normal child. This reveal, therefore, gives the young Toga something of a sympathetic origin story in My Hero Academia despite her villainous, vampiric ways.
