The Class 1A students are powering up for battle in the latest image for My Hero Academia season 6. Based on a manga of the same name created by Kōhei Horikoshi, this anime quickly became an international success. So it was no surprise when it received a speedy season 6 renewal announcement ahead of the season 5 finale. With the fall 2022 release date fast approaching, heroes and villains alike prepare for a fight unlike any other.

The rumbles of war are heard by the My Hero Academia characters towards the end of season 5, with a post-credit scene that confronts the training heroes with the start of an unexpected battle. The series has slowly been shifting toward a darker tone as it sets up an intense season 6. Teasing the upcoming season, the creators revealed that season 6 features the biggest battle of My Hero Academia so far. This should prove to be a challenge, given the myriad of bloody brawls brought to screen in the current My Hero Academia episodes.

With the season 6 conflict just a few months away, the newest visual for My Hero Academia unveils Midoriya, Bakugo, Uraraka, Iida, and Todoroki’s combat-ready poses. This image is a bit simpler compared to the other visuals recently released, as it focuses solely on the characters without any background setting. These heroes-in-training are tasked with evacuating civilians at the end of season 5, but they will inevitably be forced to fight as these quirked-up images suggest. Check out the picture below:

While waiting for the heroes and the villains to duke it, audiences will have two special My Hero Academia episodes ahead of season 6 to tide them over. The first OVA is reported to have the characters taking part in "Hero League Baseball”, inspired by some baseball-themed promotional material. Releasing sometime this summer, the episode divides the My Hero Academia characters into two teams (Gang Orca's Orcas and Shishido's Lionels) where heroes and U.A. students take part in a super-powered game of baseball. Although there’s no release date or plot details currently revealed for the second special episode, My Hero Academia’s previous OVAs have mostly been light-hearted, so it’s likely this will be the same.

The previously released key visuals for My Hero Academia season 6 chose to focus on the Pro-Heroes. Japan’s heroes are pictured rallying behind Endeavour, preparing for the destruction that lies ahead as they look to their new number one. This new image of Deku and his friends suggests that no one will be spared as they resist the Paranormal Liberation Front. Deku’s eventual clash with Shigaraki has been foreshadowed since the start of My Hero Academia, but this new image suggests that at least he won’t be alone as he takes on his biggest challenge yet.
