In the world of My Hero Academia, where almost everyone is born with a quirk, there are as many villains as heroes. To help fans keep track of who's really being bad, Shonen Jump GIGA will publish a "monster manual" of its leading criminals in the upcoming Spring issue.

While My Hero Academia's primary focus is on the adventures of Deku and the other members of Class 1-A, it's the villains of the series who provide the challenges and opportunities for the young heroes to develop and make the transition to Pro Hero. For the whole series, All For One has been the main enemy lurking in the background, but he is far from the only villain putting the world at risk. In fact, with villains such Dabi, Tomura Shigaraki, and Kai Chisaki, the manga's diverse subplots are arguably more compelling than All For One's quest to rule the world. Nevertheless, due to the large size of Class 1-A, their teachers, and the assorted Pro Heroes, it's easy for fans to lose sight of the bad guys. Enter Keigo Takami, AKA Hawks, a Pro Hero who infiltrated the Paranormal Liberation Front, where he not only gained significant intelligence about the criminal world but was instrumental in the revolutionary group's demise.

As confirmed on the Shonen Jump GIGA website, Hawks' "notes" will share criminal profiles that the Pro Heroes might share as they prepare to take down a villain. A purported preview of the feature has been shared by Twitter user Shonen Jump News - Unofficial, and appears to show information about Dabi including his formal name, date of birth, and height. There is also information about his personality, including a personality measure, and special characteristics that should be noted, which for Dabi is listed as "dishonest."

While die-hard fans of the My Hero Academia manga are likely going to know some of the information provided in the file, it's unlikely that they will know it all. As such the new guide - currently being referred to as the Hawks Villain Report by fans - can be expected to provide useful insight into the characters it profiles for both old and new fans. In addition to criminal profiles, the report also appears to provide more general information about the criminal situation the heroes must deal with such as information about typical criminals, emerging criminals, and special criminals.

Shonen Jump GIGA is the companion publication of Shueisha's Shonen Jump Weekly. It focuses on publishing spin-offs, shorts, and one-shot material of the manga titles currently being serialized in Shonen Jump Weekly. Shonen Jump GIGA's Spring Issue with the My Hero Academia's villain guide will be published on June 1, 2022, in Japan or by download globally. At present, there is no news on when it will be available from Shueisha's American partner Viz Media.
