My Hero Academia is one of the most popular animes of recent years. The show takes place in a world in which 80% of the population is born with a special ability known as a quirk. The fact that these quirks are so widespread leads to a society full of superheroes and supervillains, with superheroes even attending superhero schools in order to hone their talents. The villains, however, operate in the shadows and on the periphery of society.

Under the leadership of the mysterious and powerful, All for One, a League of Villains was formed that aimed to kill the Symbol of Peace, All Might and destroy superhero society. That being said, while the League of Villains is a terrifying group, it is not the only one we've heard of; the Legion of Doom would rival the group in terms of threat and power. This article will list five reasons why the League of Villains is the best supervillain group and five why it's the Legion of Doom.

League Of Villains: Tomura Shiguraki

Shigaraki From My Hero Academia Heroes Rising

Tomura Shiguraki is the leader of the League of Villains and is one of the most intimidating and frightening villains in My Hero AcademiaShiguraki's quirk, Decay, allows him to decay anything he touches, potentially reducing people to a mere pile of dust.

In addition to this terrifying power, Shiguraki also has a terrifying costume that would frighten almost anyone. The costume consists of several, disembodied hands that grip Shiguraki.

Legion Of Doom: They Battle The Justice League

While the League of Villains are undoubtedly a powerful and intimidating group of rogues, there is no denying that the Legion of Doom has a far more iconic group of heroes to battle as the Legion of Doom are constantly drawn into conflict with the Justice League.

The Justice League consists of some of the most iconic superheroes of all time, with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash, all being part of the group.

League Of Villains: Grounded Schemes

While the Legion of Doom is open to parody due to its constant aim for world domination via some eccentric plan, the League of Villains is far more grounded in its plans. The League of Villains wanted to kill the Symbol of Peace, All Might, in order to make the public lose faith in superheroes.

This not only presents itself as a more grounded story but also allows for a more personal and emotional story due to the relation of Shiguraki to All Might.

Legion Of Doom: More Money

Aside from the fact that they fight the Justice League, another big positive for the Legion of Doom is their vast amount of wealth they can use to further their dastardly and evil plans. There is no denying that access to vast funds make it far easier for a group to complete their evil plans.

Not only does this give them access to better weaponry, but it also allows the group to build their iconic base of operations in the swamps outside Gotham.

League Of Villains: Fresh, New Group

The Legion of Doom is one of the most iconic villain groups of all time and they battle against some of the most iconic heroes of all time. This means that we've seen so many stories concerning the group that their plans begin to get repetitive.

On the other hand, the League of Villains is a new group of villains in a new world of superheroes, meaning that we have so much more to learn about the characters and their future plans.

Legion Of Doom: Have A Better Base

While it's already hinted at in this list, the Legion of Doom, famously, have a secret base in the swamps outside Gotham City. The base is an intimidating and legendary design that, while certainly campy and over the top, is always enjoyable and entertaining to see in a story.

On the other hand, the League of Villains have no such base. Whenever we see the League of Villains, they just appear to be in a warehouse or some kind of apartment, far less iconic than a swamp base.

League Of Villains: More Unique Abilities

While the Legion of Doom arguably has more powerful abilities depending upon who is in the group at a certain time, there can be no denying that the League of Villains has far more variety in terms of powers across the group. This allows for a more unique take on a villainous group than we've had previously.

With characters like Shiguraki and his decaying quirk, Moonfish and his Blade-Tooth quirk, or even Mr. Compress with his compressing quirk, the League of Villains have more interesting powers across the board.

Legion Of Doom: More Iconic Villains

Gorilla Grodd and the Legion of Doom

While the League of Villains may have more interesting and unique powers that haven't been seen before in a villain, there is no denying that the Legion of Doom has far more iconic villains as members of its evil organization, making it a legendary villainous group.

With villains such as Lex Luthor, Gorilla Grodd, Joker, and Sinestro, to name a few, there is no denying that any story involving the Legion of Doom will guarantee the return of legendary villains.

League Of Villains: All For One

All for One is the archnemesis of All Might and the puppet master behind the League of Villains. He is a maniacal and powerful villain whose quirk, All for One, allows him to steal others' quirks and even transfer them on to other people. If All for One steals an individual's quirk, this then renders them quirkless.

All for One has twice been defeated by All Might, yet both battles left severe damage on the Symbol of Peace, with the first battle limiting All Might's power and the second battle leaving All Might powerless, forcing him to retire.

Legion Of Doom: Lex Luthor

While All for One may be a powerful and intelligent villain, Lex Luthor can more than match him in terms of brains. Lex Luthor isn't only the leader of the Legion of Doom, but he is also Superman's archnemesis and has battled against the Man of Steel on countless occasions.

The fact that Lex Luthor is the leader of the Legion of Dooms gives the group a different kind of pedigree and a guarantee that they will trouble the Justice League.
