Amazon Prime Video releases the first trailer for My Fake Boyfriend, showcasing former child stars Dylan Sprouse and Sarah Hyland alongside The Flash and The Divergent Series alum Keiynan Lonsdale. Rose Troche is set to direct.

Hyland and Sprouse both got their starts in acting as children. Hyland rose to fame playing the role of Haley Dunphy on ABC’s Modern Family, and Sprouse as Zach on the popular Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and its follow-up The Suite Life on Deck

The pair star alongside each other in the new trailer for My Fake Boyfriend. The film is produced by Lionsgate and follows Andrew (Lonsdale) in despair as he is caught up on his toxic ex-boyfriend. His bumbling friends (Sprouse and Hyland) craft a ridiculous plan to help Andrew boost his confidence, creating a fake, perfect boyfriend on social media, “Christiano.” Their scheme goes awry when Christiano becomes a social media sensation and Andrew falls for the real-life man of his dreams, Rafi. Rom-com hijinks ensue as they must now help Andrew pursue his true potential boyfriend and quash his computer-generated suitor in the process.

Fans of Sprouse, Lonsdale, and Hyland's former work might be surprised to see them in these more mature roles. While his twin brother Cole Sprouse has maintained his public status through the popular show Riverdale, Dylan Sprouse’s career has been relatively quiet since appearing on The Suite Life. Perhaps this new comedy will be Sprouse’s chance to break out into the spotlight again. My Fake Boyfriend will release on June 17, 2022 on Amazon Prime.
