Whitney often shared her mother with her TV followers and has appeared on the show since season 1. Fans were saddened as Whitney took to her social media to share her grief after the loss of her mother on December 7. Whitney revealed that Babs had died from cerebral amyloid angiopathy, an untreatable progressive condition caused when proteins enter the brain's blood vessels. The condition caused brain bleeding for Babs (hemorrhagic stroke.) Babs died surrounded by her husband, Glenn, son, Hunter, and Whitney.

According to Whitney, Babs was renowned for her humor, Southern charm, and beauty.
