TLC's My Big Fat Fabulous Life follows Whitney Way Thore on her quest to encourage self love and end body shaming. Once a slender dancer, the North Carolina native's body changed drastically due to polycystic ovary syndrome. But instead of letting that get her down, the Appalachian State University alum built a career, a movement, and a hit tv series, now in it's 8th season.

However, the No BS Active founder hasn't been as lucky in love. Her engagement to Chase Severino ended after he got another woman pregnant. Adding insult to injury, viewers speculated that the romance was actually just for the cameras. Real or not, it affected Whitney's life, and hurt her friendship with Buddy Bell. When her then-fiance expressed jealousy over their extreme affection, the author distanced herself from Buddy. But now that Chase is out of the picture, the friends have made up- and fans are more convinced than ever that they're meant to be.

Buddy is already a fan favorite cast member on the reality series. He is always going above and beyond to care for the TV personality, even after she pushed him away. Fans thought it would finally turn romantic when the pals kissed in the season 6 finale, but that didn't pan out. Despite constant denials, they act more like a married couple than friends. Buddy himself pointed this out in a recent episode, as the two discussed a pact to marry if they are still single by a certain age. Whitney's always shown him far more affection than she did with Chase. That contrast was part of the theory her engagement was fake. Even when posts gushing tributes to Buddy on Instagram to her million followers,  she insists they are purely platonic. But when one commenter said they hope Whitney doesn't end up with him, she replied "I'd be lucky to end up with someone like him."

Whitney Way Thore and Buddy Bell My Big Fat Fabulous Life

This season, their codependency is causing tension and drama. Now single, Whitney seemed jealous when Buddy announced he was dating Brittany. The 36-year-old was lost when she couldn't rely on her longtime bestie as much. Ultimately, his relationship fell apart because of putting Whitney first. After his breakup, the dancer wanted Buddy to permanently live with her in Charlotte. She was crushed when he had different plans. Whitney's extreme reactions point to them being in love, as does Buddy choosing her over Brittany. This pattern of putting each other first, time and time again, makes shippers positive they will end up together.

Despite what those My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans may wish, Buddy is currently in a relationship, with his BFF approving of this match. Thus far, it appears more successful than his short lived coupling with Brittany. But considering Whitney was in full wedding planning mode not so long ago, who knows what the future holds.
