Destruction AllStars is a free-to-play PS5 exclusive for February and March. The game harnessed elements from classics like Twisted Metal and combines them with the free-to-play attraction of Rocket League. Anybody that's into driving, smashing, and winning will enjoy this high-octane vehicular deathmatch. However, some players will want to do so in quiet. Here's how to mute other players in Destruction AllStars.

Destruction AllStars - How to Mute Other Players

Destruction AllStars Character Harmony

Sometimes gamers want peace when enjoying their favorite games. Plenty of us can be a little socially awkward, and that's okay too! It's perfectly fine to put some music on, take the headset off, and kick those feet up. Unless players are Call of Duty fans and skill-based matchmaking is forcing them to sweat through every lobby they find.

There are a few schools of thought when looking to mute other players in Destruction AllStars. The game will put all 16 players in a voice-chat lobby, which can get chaotic. Unless they're looking to communicate with their teammates, here's what players can do to avoid game-chat:

Mute Players via PS Menu

Press the PlayStation button on the DuelSense controller to bring up the Destruction AllStars gamecard. From here, players will be prompted to mute all players in their current lobby once they've found the game-chat card.

Join a PSN Party

The best work-around for muting game-chat players is to start a private PSN party. From here, players can sit in the party by themselves and enjoy the quiet, or invite their friends to communicate in-game without dealing with other players.

Destruction AllStars offers both solo and team-based game modes. Playing as a team will require more communication; however, players will most likely be playing with a group of friends anyway. They're probably accustomed to starting a PSN party and won't think twice about listening to other players in game-chat. Alternatively, Destruction AllStars' solo game modes won't utilize game-chat for any reason other than gloating over a cool K.O. Smack talk has always been a part of friendly competition. Keep it civil and social.

Developers have a full year of content planned for Destruction AllStars. We'll see how the game grows over the next two months as PlayStation 5 users continue to download the free-to-play title. Unfortunately, Destruction AllStars will not be making an appearance on PlayStation 4 or Xbox Series X|S anytime soon. Those looking to cause some real mayhem will have to first invest in a PlayStation 5.
