Netflix's Murderville is set to debut on Feb. 3, 2022. The new series follows the mildly brash Detective Terry Seattle as he tries to solve murder cases with the assistance of celebrity guests. Seattle, played by Lego Masters host Will Arnett, enlists these talented celebrities to fill just about every investigative role in a homicide, from going undercover to performing autopsies on corpses.

The fictional series leans on Arnett and several recurring characters, but it features a plethora of celebrity guests who each appear in a single episode. The slate of celebrities ranges from comedians to football players, and there's no shortage of talent. But when it comes to solving murders, certain celebrities are certain to be more reliable than others.

Annie Murphy

Annie Murphy disguised in Netflix's Murderville.

Annie Murphy is known for playing Alexis in the popular Canadian comedy series, Schitt's Creek. Her acting talent extends beyond Schitt's Creek as she has been in multiple other shows and is set to appear in the second season of Netflix's Russian Doll.

Murphy may play a rather aloof character in Schitt's Creek, but she in reality she is highly ambitious. She wrote, produced, and starred in her own web series and graduated from two different prestigious Canadian acting institutes. While she is a talented multihyphenate, her career has yet to demonstrate that she'd be more capable then Murderville's other guests at solving murder mysteries.

Marshawn Lynch

Former 5-time Pro Bowl and 2014 Super Bowl-winning running back Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch may appear as just a football player to some, however, he is highly intelligent, extremely funny, and very versatile.

Lynch attended and graduated from the University of California Berkley after being admitted on a 3.5 GPA and 1200 SAT score. In his retirement, Lynch has acted in roles as himself in The League and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Even though Lynch brings a wide range of knowledge be it football or from his degree in social welfare, Lynch does not have a specialty or knowledge in anything about solving a murder as others do that are ahead of him. Simply put, football and money can't solve murders.

Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone oddly looks happy while trying to solve a murder in Murderville.

Sharon Stone casts a wide net. Stone is a pageant contestant turned model turned star actress. She was accepted into Edinboro University in Pennsylvania at just 15 on a writer's scholarship but left to pursue a modeling career. In 2016 Stone returned to Edinboro to complete her degree.

After leaving her modeling career, Stone starred in classic movies such as Basic Instinct and Casino. With plenty of esteemed roles, a strong and immeasurable drive, a respectable education, and a footprint in multiple industries, Stone could make a solid detective.

David Wain

David Wain looks down as he directs.

According to IMDb, comedian, director and The State alumn David Wain is playing the role of "Magic Melvin" in Murderville. Wain directed the movie and series Wet Hot American Summer, won three Primetime Emmys for his writing on Childrens Hospital, and has lent his voice to animated shows such as Bob's Burgers.

What sets Wain apart is his NYU education and versatility. Wain graduated as a film student from NYU in 1991 and quickly began making a career in film. His prolific career suggests he is always on the grind and does not quit until the job is done. His work requires thinking and multi-tasking — critical skills for piecing together a murder case — and he does it with keen attention to detail.

Alison Becker

Parks & Rec alumni Alison Becker joins the cast of Murderville.

In the middle of this rich cast of celebrities is actress Alison Becker. Similar to David Wain, Becker is not playing herself but is set to appear in only one episode. In Murderville, Becker will appear as Deb Melton. She's an actress viewers are likely to, having had a recurring role on the NBC hit comedy Parks And Recreation as Pawnee reporter Shawna Malwae-Tweep.

What not many viewers may know is how insanely smart Becker is. At 16 Becker graduated high school and was accepted into Georgetown University where she later graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in English. Since then she has directed, written, produced, and acted in many comedies. Becker's overall smarts and ability to do a little of everything make her a strong celebrity detective even though her specialties have little to do with solving a murder.

Conan O'Brien

Conan O'Brien takes an earpiece from Det. Seattle in Murderville.

Going home with the bronze is comedian and former late-night show host, Conan O'Brien. Last February Conan O'Brien ended one of the best television talk showsLate Night With Conan O'Brien. O'Brien came up with clever and new material for every one of his 2,725 episodes. His success comes at no surprise. O'Brien graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1985.

Even though he majored in history and literature in college, O'Brien is a Harvard graduate, which few people can claim. Furthermore, he is very clever and knows what makes something funny and successful. Understanding people is important to solving a murder, especially why it happens. Conan knows people and what makes them tick.

Kumail Nanjiani

Kumail Nanjiani looks curious in Murderville.

Kumail Nanjiani is a Pakistani-American comedian and actor who has become a Marvel superhero. Kumail has appeared in numerous popular shows including HBO's Silicon Valley and recently made his long-awaited debut as Kingo in The Eternals.

Before acting, Kumail attended two prep schools in Pakistan, moved to the U.S. and attending to Grinnell College. He graduated with a double major in philosophy and computer science. His background in computer science could allow him to tap into any system, phone, or social media account and dig up dirt. Being tech-savvy, funny, and overall intelligent make Nanjiani a great choice of celebrity to help solve a mystery.

Ken Jeong

Ken Jeong looks down in concern in Murderville.

When there is a murder, there will be blood. I Can See Your Voice host Ken Jeongd began his adulthood a medical student at Duke University and earned his M.D. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He took several courses in acting at Duke, UNC, and UCLA, three incredibly prestigious universities.

Since winning an improv competition in 1995 and eventually leaving his career as a medical doctor behind to commit himself to acting, Jeong has played roles in numerous movies such as The Muppets and Crazy Rich Asians. Jeong's extensive medical knowledge makes him the easy choice for which celebrity to trust most to solve a murder. Solving murders centers around human bodies, and among Murderville's celebrity guests, no one understands how the human body works better than Jeong.
