Season 2 of the Warner Bros-based fighting game MultiVersus is set to begin on November 15, bringing with it plenty of bug fixes, improvements, and playable content to the title. Arguably one of its most defining features is the broad roster of characters it includes, ranging from classic cartoons such as Tom and Jerry to more modern inclusions like those from Game of Thrones. Not only is MultiVersus Season 2 poised to add even more fighters to the roster, but there are a host of other surprises being added in the coming weeks as well.

An overview of everything included in Season 2 can be found on the official MultiVersus website. For the time being, only one new character and map have been officially confirmed, but more may very well be on the way. There are still plenty of fighters that players want to see, such as House of the Dragon characters in MultiVersus or more DC heroes and villains. The announcement does note that any current reveals are just a taste of what's to come over the course of the season, so MultiVersus fans can expect to learn much more about the game's upcoming changes and additions in the near future.

New Characters Coming To Season 2 Of MultiVersus

Marvin the Martian, a new character from MultiVersus Season 2.

The first character revealed for MultiVersus Season 2 is Marvin the Martian, known most notably from the Looney Tunes franchise. Little has been revealed about the character or his kit yet. Marvin is the third Looney Tunes character to appear in MultiVersus so far, the other two being Bugs Bunny and Taz, and it's unlikely that he'll be the last, either. Other cartoon stars like Daffy Duck have been listed as no-brainer characters MultiVersus should have launched with, so their introduction in the future doesn't seem too far outside the realm of possibility. Marvin and his Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator will be followed by other characters throughout Season 2.

MultiVersus Season 2: New Maps & Where They're From

Also announced for MultiVersus Season 2 is a new map based on the Game of Thrones series. Set in the throne room of King's Landing, players can fight over the Iron Throne while dodging not only their opponents but plenty of additional hazards as well. The music for the new map is an all-new remix of the iconic Game of Thrones theme, which transitions dynamically based on the gameplay events of the match itself. While it can sometimes be difficult to keep track of every MultiVersus stage and where they're from, Season 2 makes it hard to forget the inspiration behind its newest addition. Perhaps this could also indicate that more Game of Thrones fighters will be coming to MultiVersus soon.

What To Expect From MultiVersus Season 2 Battle Pass

Like Season 1, MultiVersus Season 2 will feature another Battle Pass for players to experience. The Battle Pass functions by awarding players with cosmetic items as they earn XP through missions and matches. These items can include character variants, badges, and profile icons, among other things. There are two ways to progress through the Battle Pass: the free track or the premium track, the latter of which costs either 950 Gleamium or a Battle Pass token. The premium track includes high-end rewards, namely character taunts, which is a large part of why many were so excited about MultiVersus' rumored Battle Pass sharing system.

The MultiVersus Season 2 Battle Pass includes similar rewards, and both the free and premium tracks will add new character variants to unlock. These include Baker Street Tom & Jerry and Astronaut Velma. There are also new Ringouts, a cosmetic item that applies unique visual effects when knocking a fighter off the map. In response to feedback from Season 1, the new Battle Pass doesn't include any tiers without rewards, and point requirements have been adjusted to feel more rewarding as well as challenging.

Other Changes & Improvements In MultiVersus Season 2

There are plenty of other changes to look forward to in MultiVersus Season 2, as well. Gameplay-wise, developers have been working on network and latency improvements for the sake of performance and stability. Worldwide players should have an easier time fighting now, which should come as a relief given that online is the only option until MultiVersus' planned couch co-op releases. Other improvements can be found in the patch notes for Season 2, including new items, a simplified version of the intro tutorial, and character balance updates. As MultiVersus is still relatively new in the realm of fighting games, fighter buffs and nerfs have been extensive.

The news post for MultiVersus Season 2 also revealed the game has a winter update planned for the immediate future, following in the footsteps of the game's Halloween event from Season 1. The Silly Queue has been updated to include a new game type, Big Head Mode, which not only increases the size of characters' heads but also reduces their cooldowns significantly. Big Head Mode seems like it will be a fast-paced gameplay style good for putting fighters' abilities to the test, which might prove to be a good way to try out MultiVersus' free characters in rotation. Additionally, all cosmetics and characters have been moved to one area thanks to the MultiVersus in-game store. Given how many new cosmetics have been added in Season 2, from Evil Morty to Adventure Time's Fern, players should find it far more convenient now.

The full patch notes can be found on WB Games' website for those who want a detailed overview of what to expect in the game's latest update. It doesn't, however, list the full extent of what will be coming alongside Season 2 such as fighters, maps, and events. MultiVersus' developers have been consistently on top of updates, with additions like the new playable MultiVersus characters Gizmo and Black Adam in the fall of 2022. The spread of franchises included in the game was extensive, as well, providing plenty of variety for all walks of players. Undoubtedly, fans will have a great deal to look forward to as MultiVersus Season 2 continues to roll out.
