Warner Bros.'s upcoming MultiVersus brawler is opening its closed beta soon and will also feature the Iron Giant and Tasmanian Devil as fighters, per a recent statement. The Super Smash Bros.-inspired fighting game has been the subject of numerous leaks over the past few months relating to its robust and varied roster of playable characters and gameplay mechanics. There has even been leaked footage of MultiVersus matches, showing how popular characters like Harley Quinn and Batman might fight once the game is released.

MultiVersus will be following Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl in the tradition of modern Smash-inspired fighting games. Warner Bros. owns the rights to numerous iconic characters from Cartoon Network, HBO, and more, meaning that characters from franchises on those platforms could be available to MultiVersus. Characters confirmed to be arriving in the game include Arya Stark from Game of Thrones, Finn and Jake from Adventure Time, and Tom & Jerry. Multiple popular DC characters, such as Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman, have also been confirmed. Rumors and leaks have suggested additional characters from franchises like The Lord of the Rings and The Matrix, and dataminers have uncovered possible hints about the MultiVersus roster.

The game's roster will feature the Tasmanian Devil and Iron Giant, alongside Scooby Doo's Velma, as revealed in a cinematic trailer from the Warner Bros. Games YouTube account. These inclusions were further confirmed by a statement from WB Games, which gives additional details about the closed beta period for the game, which will run from May 19 to May 27, offering access to 15 different characters and 7 unique maps, including the Batcave and Scooby's Haunted Mansion. The statement went on to announce that the open beta for the game will be launched in July of this year. Players can enroll to be selected for access to the closed beta on the MultiVersus website.

The Tasmanian Devil, Velma, and Iron Giant are three characters that are massively popular with fans across all demographics, so including them in MultiVersus certainly seems like a good idea. The Iron Giant was actually included in a recent MultiVersus roster leak, which bodes well for some of the other highly anticipated and requested characters in the leak. Thanks to Warner Bros.'s expansive media rights, there is immense potential for a roster filled with both classic and contemporary characters.

The upcoming closed beta access period will give the gaming community another chance to see MultiVersus in action, hopefully shedding some more light on what the final game will look like. Players will also likely be excited for this summer's open beta, which will put MultiVersus and its growing roster into even more eager hands.
