Some of the content in MultiVersus has age restrictions, and there's no straightforward way to adjust the player's age in-game. This title is currently in open beta, so there may be changes before the official release that affect how age is adjusted. However, for those looking to change their age in the open beta and gain access to all content, there is a potential workaround that can help.
After downloading and launching the fighting game for the first time, players will be asked to provide their age. Once it's entered, there's no way to change it in-game. Age needs to be adjusted manually, but the method for doing so will cause all progress to be lost. For players that accidentally set the wrong age or just want to change it, the saved data needs to be erased so the age prompt appears when the open beta of MultiVersus is launched again.
The method for changing age only works on PC, so console players aren't able to adjust this. When MultiVersus is launched on PC, a prompt will pop up asking the player's age. The selection starts at Under 10 and goes up to Over 22. Choosing any age over 18 should provide unrestricted access to the game, but players can choose Over 22 if they want to be sure they can enjoy all current and future content.
Accessing Age Restricted Content In MultiVersus
Since an age needs to be chosen when opening the game for the first time, players have to delete all saved data and start over completely. After resetting and launching MultiVersus again, players will be able to set their age. Unfortunately, starting over completely is the only other way to adjust the player's age, but future updates may offer an easier method, To gain access to all the game has to offer, the player's age should be set to at least 18.
- Step One: Open File Explorer
- Step Two: Click on View, then check off the Hidden Items box so the App Data folder can be accessed
- Step Three: Navigate to Local Disk (C) and select the correct User
- Step Four: Open the App Data folder
- Step Five: Select the MultiVersus folder
- Step Six: Open the Saved folder
- Step Seven: In the SaveGames folder, delete the firstlaunch_save.sav file
- Step Eight: Launch MultiVersus and select the Over 22 option when prompted
In order to play MultiVersus at all, players need to be at least 13 years old, so setting the age lower will make the game inaccessible. If the player's age is set between 13 and 17, they can access the game's offline content. Those that are 18 or older can access the online multiplayer mode in MultiVersus and have access to all available content in the game. There are no verification requirements, so any age can be set when the game is launched for the first time.
