The new platform fighting game MultiVersus releases its full open beta on July 26th, and thousands of gamers are thrilled about it. The game features an extensive and still-expanding roster of characters from numerous Warner Bros. properties, allowing players to create the fictional fights of their dreams.

Not only does this give gamers the opportunity to play as their favorite iconic characters, it also gives them the opportunity to play against them. In fact, the properties featuring in MultiVersus are so wildly varying, that some truly hilarious match-ups that were once unthinkable are now a staggering reality.

Superman Vs The Iron Giant

The Iron Giant meeting Superman in MultiVersus

One of the funniest match-ups in MultiVersus is also in fact one of the saddest. Superman is course a symbol of heroic hope and good, which which is what causes the titular character of The Iron Giant to be so inspired by him and try to emulate his actions.

It would certainly be twistedly funny to see the Iron Giant have to come to blows with his own hero, especially if he was showing off his own Superman "S" in the midst of doing so.

Steven Universe Vs The Iron Giant

The Iron Giant actually has a few hilarious potential match-ups in MultiVersus, another one of them being the titular character from the acclaimed animated series Steven Universe.

Besides the obvious height difference, with Seven a small child and the Iron Giant...a giant, there's also the fact that this fight would probably never happen in a million years were one to take a look at their canon personalities, as the two characters are some of the most famous pacifists in all of fiction.

Velma Vs Batman

Batman is MultiVersus' best Bruiser.

Batman isn't the only detective jumping into the fray in MultiVersus, as one of the stars of Scooby-Doo, one of the best Saturday morning cartoons of all time, also joins him in the arena. Velma Dinkley, the brains of Mystery Incorporated, is trading in her magnifying glass for fisticuffs.

Despite Batman and Velma's similar lines of work, the two characters couldn't be more different. It would certainly be fascinating to see how the grizzled and brooding Batman would fight the young and cheerful teenage detective.

Batman Vs Bugs Bunny

Bugs Bunny is MultiVersus' best Mage.

On the contrary, two characters who couldn't have more different personalities can also face off in MultiVersus. The famous Looney Tunes character Bugs Bunny is extremely goofy and silly. Batman, a strict and calculating man of order and precision who's often pretty downright scary is neither of those things.

Watching Batman, the master fighter, struggle to put away a character so undisciplined and so chaotic, would certainly be hilarious.

Harley Quinn Vs Taz

While trailers have shown that the pair would more likely work together, which isn't a surprise since Taz surely reminds Harley of her beloved pet hyenas, it still would be funny to watch Harley Quinn and the Tazmanian Devil fight one another.

Taz is a feral beast, an agent of senseless and violent chaos. Harley Quinn, despite being a human being and a licensed psychiatrist, is also all of those things. A fight between the two could bring unapparelled comedic destruction.

Jake The Dog Vs Tom and Jerry

Jake the dog in MultiVersus

There have been few more iconic rivalries than that between cats and dogs, the two animals fated to duel it out for eternity.

That destiny seems to extend to any animated forms of the creatures, as now Jake, one of the main protagonists of Adventure Time, as well as one of its most likable characters, can now do battle with the iconic cartoon cat from Tom and Jerry. Tom actually joins forces with his mousey rival for MultiVersus, meaning the high-strung feline will have some help against the carefree hound.

Velma Vs Arya Stark

While the contrasts between Velma Dinkley and Batman are staggering, they might not even be as stark (no pun intended) as the differences between Velma and Arya Stark from Game of Thrones. Both teenage girls, their lives couldn't possibly be more different.

While Velma got grow up in a comfortable life in the modern age solving (usually) harmless mysteries, Arya lived through the brutal medieval fantasy of Westeros and was plunged into the unforgiving world of death and murder as a child.

Steven Universe Vs Arya Stark

Arya Stark and Steven Universe in the Batcave in MultiVersus

A character Arya Stark has even more contrast with is Steven Universe. The two characters' philosophies on killing couldn't be any more different, with Steven being the ultimate pacifist who always tries to find the peaceful solution to a conflict, and Arya being a ruthless fighter with no qualms whatsoever about killing (even having her own kill list).

While Steven pleading with Arya to find a harmless way to solve their dispute would be humorous, it would still be a smart decision for Arya not to underestimate the human gem.

Shaggy Vs Wonder Woman

Multi Versus Shaggy Character

While Shaggy has hilariously received some "Ultra Instinct" powers in MutliVersus that level the playing field, it would still be sidesplitting to watch him go to battle with the iconic DC superhero Wonder Woman. Shaggy is usually the biggest coward of the Scooby gang, running away frightened from any paranormal creature the group encounters.

In contrast, Wonder Woman is one of the most fearless characters in the entire DC universe. It would be a fight of polar opposites that can only ever occur in MultiVersus.

Garnet Vs Finn The Human

Garnet sticking a landing in MultiVersus

Steven Universe's Garnet and Adventure Time's Finn the Human are major protagonists of two of Cartoon Network's most widely-celebrated series, and both have plenty of battle experience that would not only make this fight a comedic one, but a thrilling one as well.

The humor of the fight comes from just how entirely dissimilar the two's fighting methods are, Finn being rash and bold while Garnet is the definition of cool and calculated. Both would be hilariously frustrated with the other's contrasting style.
