MTV is bringing back The Hills with a slightly different title: The Hills: New Beginnings. The reality TV series that aired for six seasons on the network focused on the personal and professional lives of several women living in Los Angeles, California. A spinoff of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, the show birthed some of the most well-known California socialites such as Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari and, Lo Bosworth.

It may not have been as enduring as Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but the show received generally favorable reviews from critics. Despite criticisms that most of the series was scripted, fans loved the show and have continued to support some of The Hills' key players even long after the show went off the air.

Deadline reports MTV is bringing back its hit reality TV series with most of the original show's cast. Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Jason Wahler, Stephanie Pratt, Justin Bobby and Frankie Delgado were all in attendance at this year's VMAs to start the buzz for the series' return but other key players like Whitney Port, Conrad, and Cavallari were missing in action. That doesn't mean that they won't be appearing in the revival, however. For starters, Cavallari has already expressed her desire to be in the upcoming incarnation of the series. What's going to be interesting, however, is whether or not she'll be in New Beginnings as a key player considering that she's also headlining her own reality series at E! titled Very Cavallari.

Conrad, who arguably emerged to become the biggest star among the cast, on the other hand, has yet to say if she's planning to also appear in The Hills reboot. Although, fans are treating her willingness to host the show's reunion special in 2016 as an indication that she may be game to partake in the revival. After her reality TV stint, Conrad started building her career as blogger entrepreneur and has even dabbled in writing novels. She remains to be a regular in the LA social scene so it's obviously going to be big if she decides to join her old castmates in New Beginnings.

Not much is known with regard to the specifics of The Hills: New Beginnings, but it is expected to debut sometime next year. The show will revolve around the original cast members "alongside their children and friends, and follow their personal and professional lives while living in Los Angeles." Considering that it still is a reality show which will more likely focus on drama, it'll be interesting to see how each personality differs from their old self almost a decade after the original series wrapped up.
