Ms Marvel is one of the many Marvel Studios series that will be heading to the Disney Plus streaming service over the next few years. It is one of the most highly anticipated projects from the creative team and there are many good reasons why.

As one of Marvel's newest heroes, Ms. Marvel has really taken the comics world by storm. However, there are many risks and rewards that come with launching a show like this. Here's 5 things we're nervous about and 5 things we're excited about concerning this adaptation of Ms Marvel.

NERVOUS ABOUT: CAMEOS

Captain Marvel in the MCU

We know many people want to see some significant cameos on this show. However, we don't think it would be a great idea to introduce other major heroes or perhaps bring in wider Marvel Cinematic Universe characters.

This could actually damage the character development for Kamala Khan, taking some of the focus off of her. We know everyone wants that Captain Marvel team up by the end of her MCU career, but this would be far too distracting for this limited series.

CAN'T WAIT: INHUMANS

Inhumans

In the comics, Ms. Marvel is actually an Inhuman, having gained her powers through the terrigen mist process. The Inhumans have actually made an appearance in the MCU before, but we're not totally sure of their status currently.

While they've featured heavily in other TV shows, creating heroes like Quake, their own spin-off show wasn't well received and likely removed from the canon. We can't wait to see this group finally make a more auspicious return to the wider Marvel universe.

NERVOUS ABOUT: CHANGES

There is an issue concerning Kamala Khan's Inhumanity, however. There's every possibility that Marvel may want to move away from this origin. Adding the Inhumans at this stage could cause a lot of difficult conflicts in future stories.

It could affect how the mutants are introduced to the show, may cause an influx of other powered individuals, or perhaps force Disney's hand in acknowledging the other Marvel TV shows. We're worried this could make Marvel change her Inhuman biology.

CAN'T WAIT: POWERS

We haven't seen anything quite like Kamala's powers on the big or small screen before. Sure, they could be a little comparable to Mr. Fantastic's, but the use of her abilities is super inventive and we're excited to see how they will translate to the screen.

Her powers, which can be used to morph her body into different shapes and sizes, could lead to some visually interesting action sequences, like with The Incredibles' Elastigirl. The CGI budget will have to be big on this one as we're hoping the team doesn't hold back.

NERVOUS ABOUT: CASTING

Getting the casting right on any character is extremely difficult. That being said, Marvel Studios and genius casting director Sarah Finn have always managed to find the right person for the job. This feels slightly different though.

Ms. Marvel is an incredibly important character to so many people. Anyone taking on this role is going to have to know everything there is to know about Khan and embody the spirit of the comic book hero. There's a lot of pressure riding on the shoulders of the young woman cast.

CAN'T WAIT: COSTUMES

Ms. Marvel has such a unique look that we can't wait to see it adapted to Disney Plus. Nearly all of the live-action Marvel costumes so far have been an absolute treat and managed to truly capture the essence of the art on the comic book page.

Ms. Marvel's own suit is colorful, vibrant, and yet deadly. She's going to need it if she's going to face some of the threats of the MCU and we know that as she continues to appear across this universe her costume will continue to develop and become more exciting.

NERVOUS ABOUT: ORIGIN STORY

We're slightly worried that this could turn out to be a traditional origin story and that fans will grow bored of the same type of tale being told over and over again. It's a fear we share about some of the other Disney Plus series in the works.

The origin story has been so overdone in this genre that we wonder if there's a new and fresh way to actually have this hero appear in the MCU, without long drawn out episodes where we're faced with a de-powered Khan in her normal life.

CAN'T WAIT: NEW HERO

Every time a new hero is introduced to this landscape it's quite an exciting moment. What's more, there's no one presented to us quite like Ms. Marvel-- young, nonsexualized, Muslim woman of color-- so that's going to be a breath of fresh air by itself.

New heroes usually mean new opportunities for interesting villains to be added, complex side characters, and an array of emotional conflicts that are unique to that character. What's more, adding a younger hero makes the MCU feel quite new again.

NERVOUS ABOUT: BACKLASH

Captain Marvel flies with Ms. Marvel behind her

There's been a backlash against other female heroes in the MCU in the past. Captain Marvel famously garnered unwarranted abuse online and as soon as this show was announced there was a loud group of critics voicing their opinions.

The most common criticism is that the character is too new to Marvel Comics to get her own show. However, she resonates so well and is so inspiring that it makes complete sense to add her to the MCU. We hope the negative comments don't derail this series.

CAN'T WAIT: FUTURE TEAM UPS

New heroes mean new team-ups and in the long term that's exactly what we want to see. With an influx of other young heroes in the MCU, we can totally see these younger powered individuals grouping together.

In the comics, there are various alliances with younger characters such as Nova, the Miles Morales version of Spider-Man and even Miss America. We hope that Khan's debut can lead to some amazing team-ups and introductions in the future.
