Ms. Marvel creator G. Willow Wilson reacts to the first trailer of the upcoming MCU adaptation while also highlighting a fun Easter egg. Following the conclusion of the Infinity Saga, the MCU has been busy setting up a lot of new elements in its ongoing Phase 4. After dealing with Thanos and the Infinity Stones, the MCU is currently exploring the Multiverse, with films like Spider-Man: No Way Home and the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Since Disney+ was launched, it has served as another platform for extensive MCU adventures as Marvel Studios have been putting out original series following new and old heroes.

One of the next heroes who will be making the jump from panel to screen is Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel, with Iman Vellani as the titular heroine. Created in August 2013, Kamala is one of the most prominent Muslim superheroes as her role in the Marvel universe has only gotten bigger over the years. While Ms. Marvel has been present in multiple animated projects, Vellani will be the first actress to ever portray her in live-action. Not only will Kamala headline her own Disney+ series, but Vellani will make the jump into the MCU films as she's set to star in The Marvels, with Brie Larson's Carol Danvers and Teyonah Parris' Monica Rambeau.

Following the release of Ms. Marvel's first trailer, it has garnered a ton of attention across social media, including fans and professionals. One of them was none other than Kamala's co-creator, G. Willow Wilson, as she shared her reaction to the new footage. In addition to that, Wilson took the opportunity to highlight a clever Easter egg that a Twitter user noticed, serving as a nod to the comic book author, which can be seen below.

It's very common for comic book movies and TV shows to find clever ways to honor the creators who allowed these characters to come to life in the first place. Sometimes it comes in the form of name-plates, street signs, or buildings being named after various comic book writers and artists. In some instances, the creators may even get to do a quick cameo appearance, which was something that became an iconic tradition with the late Stan Lee in almost every Marvel film. Given that Ms. Marvel season 1 will consist of six episodes, time will tell if there are additional planted Easter eggs for Kamala's creators.

Kamala's MCU arrival is historical as it'll be the first time a Muslim heroine headlines her own show. While Hollywood has slowly improved upon featuring underrepresented groups, there have only been a handful of Middle-Eastern superheroes to appear in live-action projects. Prior to Ms. MarvelLegends of Tomorrow's Persian siblings Zari and Behrad Tarazi have been featured for a few seasons over on The CW. The Green Lantern TV series will also introduce the Lebanese-American character Simon Baz, another prominent Muslim superhero that will be a main character in the HBO Max adaptation. As Ms. Marvel premieres in June, the MCU drama will ideally help pave the way for more Middle-Eastern heroes to come to life on screen.
