The upcoming Ms. Marvel and The Mandalorian season 3 will seemingly not hit Disney+ until 2022. Both of these shows have been highly anticipated for their respective fan groups, but there has not been much information about them until now. The Mandalorian has brought in a massive amount of new subscribers for the streaming platform, especially because it was the first live-action Star Wars show and was released on the same day Disney+ launched. Disney has also seen success with MCU TV shows since there wasn't any Marvel content released last year, making Star Wars and Marvel some of the most lucrative IP for Disney+.

The Mandalorian season 3 details are still very much under wraps. The new season will presumably follow Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) as he deals with the aftermath of Grogu going to train with Luke Skywalker. However, The Book of Boba Fett will launch at some point in 2021, so fans will still get a new addition to the Star Wars franchise this year. This show was announced during the end-credits scene from The Mandalorian season 2 finale and will bring back fan-favorite characters Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen). Ms. Marvel will star Iman Vellani as the Pakistani-American Muslim superhero Kamala Khan. Marvel Studios has not provided an official synopsis yet. Still, the show looks to reveal Kamala's origin story and her love for superheroes, especially Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers (Brie Larson). There is a chance that fans could see Carol Danvers show up in the Ms. Marvel show, but Kamala Khan will be in The Marvels.

Even though there isn't a lot known about the two shows, Disney has seemingly stated that The Mandalorian season 3 and Ms. Marvel will not be coming to Disney+ this year. In their Q3 Earnings Call (via Alex Zalben), they discussed many of their upcoming projects. However, The Mandalorian season 3 and Ms. Marvel were not mentioned in the group of shows that were launching this year. Check out the Tweet below:

The shows mentioned to launch in 2021 during the Earnings Call were Hawkeye and The Book of Boba Fett. It was known that Hawkeye was launching this year on November 24, but Marvel Studios Executive Vice President of Film Production Victoria Alonso revealed last month that Ms. Marvel would also be released by the end of 2021. Many believed The Mandalorian season 3 would be released alongside The Book of Boba Fett in December 2021, but it now looks like the spin-off show will come long before Mando's third outing. If the third season follows the same pattern as the previous two, it would likely come out in Fall 2022. This would be a two-year gap between seasons compared to the single year between The Mandalorian season 1 and 2.

It's unknown when these shows will arrive in 2022, but this delay could mean that a trailer for both The Mandalorian season 3 and Ms. Marvel won't be arriving for a while. While official details remain scarce on both shows, fans can at least look forward to the other Marvel and Star Wars projects that Disney has coming out this year. Disney previously announced that 100+ titles would be released on the platform every year going forward, so there will likely be a lot to keep fans occupied until these specific shows come out in 2022.
