Warning: SPOILERS for Ms. Marvel episode 4.

Ms. Marvel episode 4 has hidden a free Marvel comic Easter Egg. Ms. Marvel episode 4 sees Kamala and her mother head to Pakistan to visit Kamala's grandmother. Kamala has made the trip to Pakistan at the request of her Nani in the hope that together they may be able to figure out what Kamala's visions of the train mean and what it means to be a Djinn. It's Kamala's first trip to Pakistan, and Karachi's lively and colorful streets fascinate her. Unfortunately for her, her problems follow her halfway across the world. Kamran's mother and the other ClanDestines have broken out of the Damage Control facility to get the bangle that can bring them home to their dimension.

On an exploratory trip through Karachi with her cousins, Kamala wants to head to the historical train station to see if there are any answers for her there. Her cousins have other plans, so they leave Kamala to figure it out on her own. Kamala, however, doesn't know where the train station is, so she has to rely on the kindness of strangers to get directions.

One such stranger is a street vendor who takes a polaroid photo of Kamala. He wants her to buy it for 1500 rupees, and while Kamala initially looks exasperated, she agrees to give him the money in exchange for directions to the train station. His directions are vague, but in the next scene of the newest Ms. Marvel episode, Kamala arrives at the train station in one piece. What's most interesting about this street vendor, however, isn't his photography or his unintelligible directions but rather the QR code stuck to the frame of his stall. This QR code takes the scanner to the Marvel website, where they will find a free digital copy of Ms. Marvel (2015) #12 (via Marvel).

Each Ms. Marvel Episode Has Shared A Free Marvel Comic Book

This isn't the first free Ms. Marvel comic that Marvel has offered since the start of the show. One issue has been released per episode, including Ms. Marvel (2014) #1 for its premiere episode, issue #15 of the same run for the show's second episode, and Magnificent Ms. Marvel (2019) #1 for the show's third episode. Each of these comics relates to something that has happened in the show, despite Ms. Marvel's differing superhero origin for Kamala. The comic that was released for the second episode, for instance, delves into the darker side of Kamala's history with her crush Kamran.

Marvel has released free digital comics in tandem with their Disney+ shows before. Eagle-eyed Moon Knight viewers found QR codes hidden within the show's episodes, each of which also took prospective readers to the Marvel site to find a free digital comic that hinted at the show's future and foundation. MCU projects are always laden with fun Easter Eggs for their audiences to find and understand, but the addition of interactive Easter Eggs like these free comics QR codes add something substantial to the experience of the show. Avid Marvel comic book readers may get to re-read some of their favorite issues for free, while new readers may discover the joy of comic books for the first time. In any case, Ms. Marvel episode 4 has upped the intrigue, and perhaps the answers to what might happen next week can be found in the accompanying free comic book.
