Warning: This article contains spoilers for Ms. Marvel episode 3.

Ms. Marvel episode 3 reveals just enough about Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) and her origins to generate more questions than it answers. As has become common for the series, Ms. Marvel episode 3 includes MCU Easter Eggs and utilizes them in such a way as to suggest new and exciting revelations for the MCU as a whole. While it isn't yet clear what some of these implications might fully mean, there are sure to be more hints and answers as Ms. Marvel continues on Disney+.

Ms. Marvel episode 3 opens with Kamala meeting Kamran's (Rish Shah) mother, Najma (Nimra Bucha). Najma reveals Kamala's true heritage and explains that she and Kamala's great-grandmother, Aisha, belong to a group that call themselves the ClanDestine and that they come from another dimension, the Noor Dimension. Najma explains that Kamala's bracelet is the only chance her group has of returning to the dimension from which they were cast out.

Ms. Marvel episode 3 introduces new characters and plot points that suggest big changes from Kamala's comic book origin. The series has now reached its halfway point and has answered many questions but has raised many more and, with three episodes left, it's anyone's guess as to how the series will impact the greater MCU. Here's a roundup of some of the biggest questions raised by Ms. Marvel episode 3.

Whose Blue Arm Was That?

The Blue Arm in Ms. Marvel.

While there have been a number of blue aliens introduced in the MCU so far, none of them feel like likely candidates for the original owner of Kamala's bracelet. In the comics, Kamala's status as an Inhuman would make sense of the blue arm: most Kree are blue and Kamala has deep ties to the species. In the MCU, however, it's much more likely that the original owner of the bracelet was some kind of Djinn. While the Djinn in Ms. Marvel aren't blue aliens (or they haven't yet been portrayed that way), the fact that the ClanDestines believe the bracelet to be their only sure way home suggests a connection between its original owner and the Djinn.

Were Those The Ten Rings?

An overhead shot of the ruin where the ClanDestines find the bracelet shows a familiar symbol carved into stone around them. It appears Ms. Marvel is tying itself to another MCU phase 4 property in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. While the Ten Rings are still shrouded in mystery in the MCU, what is known of them is that they are unlike any mystical artifact in Kamar-Taj and aren't recognizable as any alien technology currently known to the heroes of the MCU. If the Ten Rings share an origin with Kamala's bracelet, it would explain why they're so enigmatic: they might come from an entirely different dimension.

Who Are The ClanDestines?

Ms Marvel Clan Destine

In Marvel comics, the ClanDestines are a group descended from Adam of Destine and the Djinn Elalyth. Ms. Marvel seems to be getting away from this origin for them, instead stating that they come from another dimension and have many names, one of which is Djinn. The choice to include this element is a great nod to Kamala's Pakistani and Muslim heritage. Djinn are a significant piece of her culture, even if generally considered wicked. In a show that focuses so much on Kamala's identity and heritage, calling everything she knows into question by labeling her a Djinn is a stroke of brilliance.

The revelation that Kamala Khan probably isn't an Inhuman but instead tied to the ClanDestines is a big departure from the comics. While it's possible that Najma isn't being fully honest or that some other piece of information will come to the light that recontextualizes what has been revealed, it feels likely that this revelation is for real. What remains to be seen is just how Kamala deals with this new truth.

Why Did Aisha Really Disappear?

Aisha holding a bangle in Ms. Marvel.

Najma tells Kamala that her great-grandmother, Aisha, disappeared during the Partition of India. This fits what members of her family told her, but could also be only a partial truth. For Aisha to have been away from the ClanDestines for so long without reaching out suggests a few possibilities: she left them, they cast her out, or she died. While it's possible Aisha passed away during the Partition as is suggested in Ms. Marvel, her status as one of the long-lived ClanDestines makes it doubtful. While their specific powers are yet-unknown, they seem far hardier than the average human. This doesn't mean it's impossible that she perhaps sacrificed herself for Sana's sake, but that remains to be seen.

Given the ClanDestines' desperation to obtain Kamala's bracelet, it's unlikely that they willingly parted ways with Aisha. Perhaps she saw the other ClanDestines as dangerous and stole the bangle to keep the Earth—and her family—safe. Ms. Marvel has shown the ClanDestines to be extreme and quick to anger. It's altogether possible that Aisha noticed this behavior and was concerned enough about it to run away from the group.

Will Kamran Find The Second Bangle?

Ms Marvel Kamran

Ms. Marvel episode 3 makes it clear that a second bangle is out there and potentially necessary to get the ClanDestines home to their dimension. In the Marvel comics, Kamran has powers that were activated by Terrigen Mist, just like Kamala. Najma makes it sound like he could also have powers in Ms. Marvel, but they're lying dormant until activated by something, just as Kamala's were. It could be that the series is hinting that Kamran will end up finding the second bangle and becoming super just like Kamala.

What's With Kamala's Train Vision?

Kamala's Train vision in Ms. Marvel.

During her struggle with Najma, Kamala sees another vision where a train marked with the name "Karachi." This fits with Ms. Marvel episode 2, where Kamala's family talks about Partition and getting on the last train for Karachi. It's not yet entirely clear what meaning Ms. Marvel's train vision holds, but it's certainly connected to Kamala's family, their mysterious origins, and Partition.

Did Muneeba See The Train, Too?

Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan in Ms Marvel

At the end of Ms. Marvel episode 3, Kamala speaks with her grandmother, Sana, who tells her that she also saw the train vision and it means that Kamala needs to come to Karachi. Given that Kamala, Muneeba, and Sana are all descended from Aisha, does this mean Muneeba saw the same vision? It's been clear from nearly the beginning of Ms. Marvel that Muneeba knows more than she's let on, but this shared vision might suggest that she's more connected to all this than Kamala suspects.

From connections to Shang-Chi to significant changes from its source material, Ms. Marvel episode 3 introduces many new elements and raises a lot of new questions. With three episodes left in the series before Kamala is featured in Captain Marvel 2, there's no sure way to know how all of these new revelations will tie back into the large MCU. Either way, Ms. Marvel may end up playing a much bigger role in the overall universe than once thought.
