According to Ms. Marvel head writer Bisha K. Ali, easter eggs referring to Valkyrie and Korg were cut from the first episode's AvengerCon scene. Tessa Thompson and Taika Waititi debuted as the Marvel characters in 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, with the third God of Thunder adventure also directed by Waititi. That movie earned praise for its revival of the God of Thunder. Meanwhile, Ms. Marvel's first episode premiered on Disney+ on June 8, 2022, earning rave reviews from critics.

In Ms. Marvel's premiere episode, "Generation Why", Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan has to come up with a successful plan to attend the first-ever AvengerCon fan convention at former SHIELD facility Camp Lehigh alongside her best friend Bruno (Matt Lintz) after falling out with her parents. After sneaking out, Kamala arrives at the event in the Captain Marvel cosplay she and Bruno dedicated so much time to crafting, surrounded by other super-hero cosplayers and exhibits dedicated to the MCU's mightiest heroes. From recreations of their most memorable moments, merchandise, photo opportunities, to even tributes dedicated to fallen Avengers like Black Widow, AvengerCon is littered with nods to other heroes, but the series' head writer has revealed that two easter eggs didn't make the final episode.

During an interview with TV Line, Ali revealed that the original scene's concept had even more cameos and nods that were cut prior to production starting. The writer first revealed that during the scene's early drafts, AvengerCon would have featured a moment where a cosplayer dressed in a full, elaborate Korg cosplay would be seen struggling with the convention security. Another cut easter egg would have had an appearance by some form of winged horse as a reference to Valkyrie's horse Aragorn. Ali concluded by teasing that her original first draft of AvengerCon would have featured nods to every character in the MCU. Check out her response below.

“At one point, there was a guy dressed in full Korg cosplay and he couldn’t get through the security barriers. That’s was in a very early draft that no longer exists... The bananas first draft of AvengerCon, which will never see the light of day, had everybody in it,”

While easter eggs referring to the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe were narrowed down for the final scene, Ms. Marvel's AvengerCon scene did feature cameos from other Avengers like Iron Man and Captain America. During an interview with Screen Rant, Saagar Shaikh and Rish Shah, who portray Kamala's brother Aamir and classmate Kamran, revealed that not only did the set for AvengerCon impress them, but they had also donned costumes so that they may be part of the scene. Shaikh revealed that both he and Shah can be seen dressed in Captain America and Iron Man cosplays respectively in the background of a scene between Kamala and Bruno, confirming that their cameos did make the final cut.

Ms. Marvel's AvengerCon is a scene with an incredible amount of easter eggs to Marvel's heroes and their respective films, with dioramas of Paul Rudd's Ant-Man emerging before a ferry boat as seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain America: The First Avenger's "Star-Spangled Man With a Plan" playing from overhead speakers, and cardboard standees of Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch (portrayed in the MCU by Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen respectively). As such, it may be surprising to fans that some references were cut, given the large volume of nods already featured in the final cut. However, with Ali revealing the original scope potentially featured more references, some fans may wonder what other easter eggs had to be scrapped.
