Everything To Know About Mrs. Davis

The cast of Mrs Davis all looking surprised

Mrs. Davis is described as an exploration of faith versus technology, chronicling an epic battle that pits the biblical against the binary. Gilpin plays a nun named Simone, who does battle against an all-powerful Artificial Intelligence known as "Mrs. Davis." Gilpin is joined by several familiar faces from television dramas and comedies, including What We Do in the Shadows alum Jake McDorman as Simone's rebellious ex Wiley. Margo Martindale, known for The Americans and seen recently in Ryan Murphy's The Watcher, is briefly in the trailer. She plays Simone's Mother Superior.

Andy McQueen, seen in the trailer as well, plays Jay. The ensemble of Mrs. Davis also includes Scream star David Arquette, Elizabeth Marvel, Chris Diamantopoulos, Ashley Romans, Tom Wlaschiha, Mathilde Olliver, and Evil's Katja Herbers. Behind the camera, Hernandez serves as the showrunner. She co-writes and executive produces the series with Lindelof. Owen Harris and Alethea Jones will direct multiple episodes.

It was previously mentioned by the cast and creative team that another streaming service passed on the project because there was some concern about depicting algorithms negatively. The trailer for Mrs. Davis takes a jovial and energetic tone if anything, powered by its rendition of "Livin' On A Prayer", but it smartly still keeps details about the plot to a minimum. That could work, as the show is in a good position to pull off a surprise.
