The winner of Mr. Beast's Squid Game won hundreds of thousands of dollars in an incredibly accurate, albeit heavily laxed, version of Netflix's Squid Game TV series. YouTuber Mr. Beast made waves in recent weeks when he revealed he was recreating every game from Netflix's Squid Game and would host his own version of the competition — though it obviously wouldn't be nearly as violent as the actual TV show was, in which people were killed when they failed to complete a challenge.

In a similar fashion, Mr. Beast's Squid Game begins with 456 players, all of whom have an equal opportunity to win the Squid Game prize money. And just like in the show, once they complete each challenge, everyone who "survived" goes to the barracks to rest and can see the prize money above their heads. Most people in the competition watched Squid Game and have an idea of what to expect from each game, but throughout the video, it's clear some people didn't watch the series at all and were, therefore, at a slight disadvantage. Still, Mr. Beast accounted for that.

Ultimately, out of 456 players, player 079 won Mr. Beast's Squid Game, going home with the prize money of $456,000 — $1,000 for each person. While the show had 45.6 billion won as its prize money, that would be conceivably be far too much for Mr. Beast to shell out. However, to make things fun and less stressful for everyone, players who lost the challenges still went home with some money — $2,000 to be exact, and players who left immediately following that the honeycomb challenge's completion were given $4,000 in order to trim the herd.

Player 079 in Mr Beast Squid Game

A major point of Mr. Beast's Squid Game was its accuracy, but they also needed to prevent foreknowledge from giving players an advantage, so the players were thrown a few curveballs. The shapes for the honeycomb game were hidden behind walls and were only revealed once everyone chose their spot; that is notably different from the show, in which players didn't know what the game was but were shown the shapes in advance. Then for the marbles game, instead of people picking their partners, they were forced to play against their "best friends" — or the person they had been speaking to the most. Later on, instead of resorting to violence to thin the numbers as the show did, Mr. Beast's Squid Game had players play Ddakji, the original game from the series that requires a person to flip over a card. Towards the end, rather than picking their spot in line for the glass bridge game, the numbers on the mannequins were randomized — and in Korean.

At the end of Squid Game, player 067 was killed prior to the final game being played, and therefore, there were only two players left standing. In Mr. Beast's Squid Game, there were six players — and because no one actually knew how to play Squid Game, the final challenge ended up being musical chairs, one of the simplest games to play. Sadly, player 456 — who won in the TV series — was eliminated midway through the final game, because he accidentally sat down before the music stopped. In the end, player 079 beat player 330 to win Mr. Beast's Squid Game, though the latter still received a cushy $10,000 for coming in second place.
