Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin seek murderous revenge in the first official trailer for the upcoming comedy film, Moving On. The now iconic duo first appeared onscreen together in the 1980 hit film 9 to 5 alongside Dolly Parton. Tomlin and Fonda have since gone on to lead the hit Netflix original series Grace and Frankie, which premiered in 2015 and saw a successful run of seven seasons. Most recently, the famed duo can soon be seen back on the big screen in the upcoming comedy 80 for Brady, which is set to hit theaters on February 3.

Now, the first official trailer for the upcoming comedy film Moving On has been revealed via Entertainment Tonight, which showcases Fonda and Tomlin again reuniting on the big-screen, but this time the iconic duo find themselves on a murderous hunt for revenge.

The first official trailer sees Claire (Fonda) and Evelyn (Tomlin) reuniting at their friend Joyce’s funeral, where Claire threatens Joyce’s husband Howard (Malcolm McDowell) now that Joyce is gone, noting to him that she will kill him before the weekend is over. From gun shopping to poison discussions and lovers reuniting, the Moving On trailer showcases that this is a comedic revenge story like never before.

What To Expect From Moving On

Besides Fonda, Tomlin, and McDowell, Moving On will also see Richard Roundtree, Catherine Dent, and Eddie Martinez among its cast. The upcoming revenge-packed comedy is written and directed by Paul Weitz, who also made the Netflix film Fatherhood. Weitz is also on board the forthcoming project as a producer, along with Stephanie Meurer, Dylan Sellers, Andrew Miano, and Chris Parker.

While it is still uncertain what Howard (McDowell) has done most recently to face Claire (Fonda) and Evelyn’s (Tomlin) wrath, it appears that past actions of his and finger-pointed blame have been lingering over Claire and Evelyn’s heads for decades. Although there is the question as to what led to the friends’ estranged relationship, it will be interesting to see if maybe their accusations against Howard actually stem from the past actions of one of the two leading ladies, which previously could have led to their strained relationship under false pretense. Even though it's premiering after 80 for Brady, Moving On was filmed before the sports-comedy movie, making Moving On the first collaboration of Fonda and Tomlin's following their hit Netflix series Grace & Frankie.

No matter the reason for revenge or the onscreen duo's strained relationship, Moving On is packed full of clever one-liners and Tomlin’s iconic deadpan delivery in a way that already catapults the forthcoming film as arguably the best work yet by this iconic duo. The upcoming revenge comedy seems like a must-watch as it sets up with Thelma & Louise vibes. Grace & Frankie stars Fonda and Tomlin can be seen reuniting on the big screen when Moving On hits theaters on March 17.
