A sequel to Wonder Woman that further follows the adventures of Diana of Themyscira. Plot details are unknown at this time. (Poster is for the original Wonder Woman.)

A standalone sequel, Wonder Woman 2 has officially been announced by Warner Bros. The movie which features actress Gal Gadot in the titular role already has a premiere date and it is happening on December 13, 2019.

Director of the first film, Patty Jenkins has yet to announce her involvement as of this writing but an agreement and official announcement is expected to happen soon. The first movie was a surprise success having surpassed the $800 million box office making it the highest grossing film directed by a woman. It has also become the highest grossing superhero origin film.

The first movie was set in 1918 towards the end of World War 2 although Diana Prince has already appeared in a more recent timeline in Zack Snyder’s 2016 movie, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She is also set to appear in Justice League which will be shown on November 17, 2017 together with Aquaman/Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa), The Flash/Barry Allen (Ezra Miller), Cyborg/Victor Stone (Ray Fisher), Superman/Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) and Batman/Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck).

No movie plot has been shared yet as well but many believe that a big time jump will happen. It is widely believed to happen at a time after the events on Justice League, or possibly in the 1980s. No other cast members have been confirmed to return.

The 2017 Wonder Woman film introduced Diana Prince as the daughter of Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) who ruled over the Amazons in the hidden island of Themyscira. They are of mythological descent as a race of warrior women created by Zeus.

In 1918 she meets Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), an American pilot whom she rescues from a plane crash. They become romantically involved and fought against the Germans in hopes to stop the war. Ares (David Thewlis) who is believed to have caused the war among humans also appears and reveals Diana’s destiny.

An adaptation of the New Mutants comic books, this X-Men cinematic universe installment follows five new mutants who are held in a secret facility against their will. Together, they must fight the dangers of their powers and deal with their troubled pasts, if they are to save themselves.

A new breed of X-Men heroes will make their debut on the big screen soon with the movie adaptation of The New Mutants. The film will follow the story of five young mutants who are kept in a secret facility just as they are discovering their abilities. They will have to work together to free themselves, while battling conflicts among themselves and within themselves.

The movie is set to premiere in April 2018 and will feature mutants Magik/Illyana Rasputin (Anya Taylor-Joy), Wolfsbane/Rahne Sinclair (Maisie Williams), Cannonball/Sam Guthrie (Charlie Heaton), Sunspot/Roberta da Costa (Henry Zaga), Mirage/Danielle Monstar (Blu Hunt) and Dr. Cecilia Reyes (Alice Braga).

Director Josh Boone himself wrote co-wrote the screenplay with his friend Knate Lee. They are both fans of the comic series. They started working on the film concept right after Boone finished working on his blockbuster film, The Fault in Our Stars. After creating a comic book inspired by Chris Claremont’s work, they presented their idea for a trilogy to X-Men producer Simon Kinberg. In May 2015, Fox inked a deal with Boone to direct the standalone X-Men films spinoff based on the screenplay they made.

Filming for The New Mutants started on July 10, 2017 under the working title Growing Pains, in Boston. It is revealed that the film will have a full-fledged horror movie style, which is unlike previous X-Men films. Boone further revealed that there will be no costumes and no super-villains. Instead, the lead characters are going up against a psychic monster known as the Demon Bear who is connected to Mirage.

Filming wrapped up in September with the director and the cast posting photos of the milestone in their social media accounts.

April 3, 2020
PG-13
Action, Sci-Fi

Plot is unknown. Film is part of DC Extended Universe and will be the solo vehicle for Cyborg, following his appearances in Batman V Superman and Justice League.

Another DC character set to star in a DC Extended Universe standalone film is Cyborg, portrayed by Ray Fisher. Nothing much is heard about the development of the Cyborg project which was announced in 2014 but recent news confirms that it still on track for a 2020 release.

In the DC Extended Universe Cyborg has already appeared in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and he is also set to appear on Justice League: Part One and Justice League: Part Two.

Cyborg appeared first appeared in DC Comics Presents #26 as created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Perez released in October 1980. He was introduced as a member of the The New Teen Titans alongside Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy. They joined Original Teen Titan members and founders Robin, Wonder Girl and Kid Flash.

However in DC’s 2011 reboot he became a founding member of the Justice League. The DCEU will feature him alongside five of the seven original members of the JL namely Batman/Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck), Aquaman/Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa), The Flash/Barry Allen (Ezra Miller), Superman/Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) and Wonder Woman/Diana Prince (Gal Gadot).

Two original members, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter do not seem to be included in the film although the former seems to be hinted at the trailer shown at Comic-Con.

The father and son were briefly shown in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as was Aquaman and The Flash. They were shown in the laboratory where in Dr.  Stone was seen trying to save his son.

Cyborg is considered to be a lesser known character compared to the other members of JL and Morton but Morton revealed that audience will get to know the dynamics between the father and the son more in the upcoming Justice League film to be released in November 2017.
