Star Wars 9 / Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

This is the third installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy and will serve as the culmination of the Skywalker saga. Jurassic World helmsman Colin Trevorrow was originally named director back in 2015 when the film first entered development, but he parted ways with Lucasfilm due to creative differences over the script. In September 2017, Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams signed on to finish what he started.

In July 2018, Lucasfilm officially announced the film's cast, which primarily consists of returning stars from Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Newcomers include Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant, Dominic Monaghan, and Naomi Ackie. Filming started in August 2018.

Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)

In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.

The film was officially announced in February 2018, shortly after the previous movie became a huge hit for Sony. Jake Kasdan will once again direct, with the stars of Welcome to the Jungle all returning. Production got underway in February 2019 for a December release.

Little Women (2019)

Four sisters come of age in America in the aftermath of the Civil War.

This is the eighth adaptation of the 1868 novel by Louisa May Alcott. The film had been in development for some time, with Greta Gerwig signing on to rewrite the screenplay in 2016. In 2018, it was announced this would be Gerwig's first directorial outing after Lady Bird, the acclaimed 2017 dramedy that earned her a Best Director nomination at the Oscars. The cast rounded into shape during various points in 2018, and filming began in October of that year.

Cats (2019)

This big screen adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's famous Broadway musical - itself based on T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats - follows a tribe of cats (known as the Jellicles) as they decide one night which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and return to a new life.

Tom Hooper was attached to direct the film in 2016. The main cast came together in mid-2018, ahead of production getting started at Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden the following November.

Spies in Disguise (2019)

The film was officially announced in September 2017. It is based on the animated short, Pigeon: Impossible.
