Fifty Shades Freed (2018)

  • Rating: R
  • -Genre: Romance, Thriller

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Freed, the third chapter based on the worldwide bestselling “Fifty Shades” phenomenon.

This is the final chapter in the Fifty Shades trilogy, which is based on the series of novels by E.L. James. Though the franchise has been widely panned by critics, the movies are financially successful. The first film, Fifty Shades of Grey, was released in 2015 and earned $571 million at the worldwide box office. Sequel Fifty Shades Darker fared worse commercially, but still brought in $381.1 million. With Fifty Shades Freed, the franchise should pass the $1 billion mark collectively. This film was shot back-to-back with Fifty Shades Darker, with director James Foley beginning production in 2016. Production ran from February to July that year. Universal will release Fifty Shades Freed in IMAX theaters.
