In G.I. Joe: Retaliation, a semi-reboot/sequel to the 2009 film G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, director Jon Chu pairs returning characters Snake Eyes (Ray Park) and Duke (Channing Tatum) with a batch of new heroes Lady Jaye (Adrianne Palicki), Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson), as well as the villainous, Firefly (Ray Stevenson) in a "gritty" action-adventure film. After a deadly terrorist attack leaves U.S. defenses scattered and outnumbered, the ragtag group of remaining Joes seek the assistance of original "Real American Hero," Joe Colton (Bruce Willis), in order to strike back at Cobra and the group's leader, the ruthless Cobra Commander.
Oz the Great and Powerful, from director Sam Raimi, follows the life of Oscar Diggs (James Franco), an ambitious circus magician who is swept away to the Land of Oz. Following his arrival in the faraway place, Oscar finds himself at the center of a power struggle between the Oz witches, Glinda (Michelle Williams), Theodora (Mila Kunis), and Evanora (Rachel Weisz), that could spell doom for the creatures and people of Oz. Not knowing who to trust, Oscar must find his own path in the mysterious land - a path that will prepare him for his role as the iconic Wizard of Oz.
The Host, based on the 2008 novel by Twilight creator Stephenie Meyer, takes place in a post-apocalytpic world where humanity is at war with a parasitic alien race known as "Souls" - beings that take over human bodies, erasing the original people. After a life-threatening altercation leaves her on the brink of death, Melanie "Mel" Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) is injected with a soul parasite but instead of joining the fight to erase humanity, the life form (known as Wanderer) elects to aid the human rebellion.
