Films are brought to life by the cast that is chosen to represent the characters and give essence to a story. The trilogy that includes Unbreakable, Split, and Glass, is one of M. Night Shyamalan's famous projects that he himself wrote, produced, and directed.  All three films have been praised for their unique and dark portrayals of comic heroes and their ability to bring social injustice to the forefront.

Glass is brimming with a cast of outstanding actors and actresses that have made significant contributions to the movie industry and given viewers a lot to choose from. Several of the star cast members have played in some fascinating roles and adaptations that are too good to miss.

Anya Taylor-Joy: Morgan (2016) - 5.8

In 2016, 20th Century Fox released Morgana science fiction horror film written by Seth Owen. Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queens Gambit) plays a genetically engineered artificial being infused with DNA and given a sense of emotion. In the film, many models before her have failed to meet the requirements and have been disposed of. This is her chance to prove herself.

The film depicts her self-awareness and her awareness of others. Scientists try to assess her violent outbursts and control her abilities. Anya Taylor-Joy plays a captivating role in this story of consciousness and control.

Bruce Willis: Death Wish (2018) - 6.4

2018's action-thriller Death Wish is a story about a man who takes matters into his own hands by embarking on a plan for justice and revenge after his family is assaulted, leaving his daughter in a coma and his wife dead. Famous actor, Bruce Willis plays the plagued man in this tragic story that leaves audiences feeling enraged, sad, and determined.

Apart from Willis, the film's cast also includes star names such as Mike Epps, Dean Norris, and Vincent D'Onofrio. Death Wish may not have scored that high with IMDb, but it is still worth a watch and for fans of the film, there is also the original 1974 film, starring Charles Bronson.

Charlayne Woodward: The Crucible (1996) - 6.8

The 1996 film, The Crucible, is considered a great classic depiction of the Salem witch trials of the 1690s, but perhaps unrecognizable to viewers is actress Charlayne Woodard from Glass.

In The Crucible, she plays the role of Tituba, a slave and the first woman to ever be accused of witchcraft by a group of young girls. The movie is intensely impactful and Woodward plays her passionate role very well. For any viewers who are into historical accounts, this is an interesting watch.

Anya Taylor-Joy: The Witch (2015) - 6.9

Anya Taylor-Joy features in another film to make this list, this time in The Witch, in which she plays the role of the only survivor of three teenage girls who were kidnapped by the character with multiple personality disorder in Split.

This sinister nightmare of a movie is one of the creepiest adaptations of the colonial times of the 1630s and the Salem witch trials, which illustrates the belief at the time that witches lived amongst the devoutly religious, tormenting innocent souls. Anya Taylor-Joy does incredible work here playing the accused.

Sarah Paulson: Carol (2015) - 7.2

Actress Sarah Paulson has played many great roles in her career. One of her more controversial roles is in the film Carol. This 2015 romantic drama is about the social and familial issues surrounding homosexuality among women in the 1950s.

The main character of Carol is played by renowned actress Cate Blanchett. Carol is a woman who is going through a divorce and becomes attracted to a woman in a department store. They eventually start up a relationship. Sarah Paulson plays Abby, Carol's best friend, and former lover. Paulson plays an incredible adaptation as a woman who is attracted to women in a time when it was unacceptable.

James McAvoy: Split (2016) - 7.3

Cast member James McAvoy is an actor that never disappoints. His ability to play a diverse range of roles has been viewed as both outstanding and entertaining. One of the films in the same trilogy as Glass is Split and stars McAvoy as a man with Dissociative Identity Disorder.

After kidnapping three teenage girls, his multiple personas (24, to be exact) start to come forward with "The Beast" being the ultimate tyrant that will consume the girls. Masterfully played, McAvoy portrays multiple characters in this film, leaving viewers with a creepy sense of instability, concern, and suspense.

Samuel L. Jackson: Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) - 7.7

Avid movie watchers might already be familiar with this series starring Samuel L. Jackson as the villain, Richmond Valentine.  His portrayal in Kingsman: The Secret Service is cynical, fun, and disturbing at the same time.

Valentine's character wants to dominate the world by controlling climate change and reducing the population by force. Samuel L. Jackson gives a good performance as the vile and strange egocentric rich genius. It's up to the secret service and their new recruit to stop him.

James McAvoy: The Last King Of Scotland (2006) - 7.7

Another impactful film starring actor James McAvoy is The Last King Of Scotland. He not only played a difficult role, but the film won him his first BAFTA nomination. The movie tells the story of a Scottish doctor Nicholas Garrigan, who travels to Uganda to become the president's personal physician. Things get serious when he is suddenly not allowed to leave and is forced to stay among dangerous people he once considered friends.

Actor Forest Whittaker plays the president in this fictional adaptation, along with Kerry Washington as his youngest wife, who starts a romantic relationship with Nicholas. McAvoy plays a desperate man in this incredibly high tension thriller.

Samuel L. Jackson: The Hateful Eight (2015) - 7.8

Director Quentin Tarantino helped produce this Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning film with the help of a renowned cast of seasoned actors. Samuel L. Jackson, who plays one of the lead roles in Glass, also stars as one of the lead roles in The Hateful Eight. He is accompanied by Kurt Russell, Michael Madsen, and Channing Tatum, to name a few.

In the plot, eight strangers come together under unpredictable but coincidental circumstances in a cabin during a snowstorm, and after a few underhanded slights and a couple of murders, things get very messy. Jackson plays a fantastic role as a bounty hunter who is determined to take his captive to the gallows.

Spencer Treat Clark: Mystic River (2003) - 7.9

Directed and produced by Clint Eastwood, the film Mystic River is a neo-noir mystery crime based on a Dennis Lehane novel.  Actor Spencer Treat Clark plays David Dunn's son in the movie Glass. He also plays in the film Gladiator as a young boy.  He is now 33 years old, but his childhood roles have been his most well-known works.

Mystic River was released in 2003 and starred Sean Penn, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Bacon, and other well-known actors.  Spencer played the role of Dave Boyle's younger brother, "Silent Ray."  His adaptation of a violent and traumatized childhood and family life is extremely impactful for viewers and definitely contributes to the tone of the film.
