ER was one of the first and most popular medical dramas to air on television and closely followed the personal and professional lives of the medical staff of a Chicago Emergency Room. The show saw a fantastic cast appear in hundreds of episodes throughout the show's 15 seasons most notably George Clooney in the early seasons.

Noah Wyle starred as Dr. John Carter throughout most of the 15 season run of ER that chronicled Carter's entire medical career from med student to attending physician.

Wyle also starred in The Librarian franchise as Flynn Carsen, a constant learner and student who is shocked when he's chosen to be the new librarian, a protector of all magical artifacts. It's a fun, wacky, and adventurous film and television franchise that's worth checking out.

Linda Cardellini - Legally Blonde (2001) - 6.3

Linda Cardellini starred in several episodes of ER as Samantha Taggart in the later seasons of the series. Although Linda Cardellini only had a small role in Legally Blonde, her character made an impact within the film.

Reese Witherspoon stars in the film as Elle Woods and continually proves herself to be an intelligent, confident, and capable woman and law student despite everyone judging her by her looks. She questions Cardellini's character on the stand during a trial and comes up with a creative conclusion to prove her client's innocence.

Goran Visnjic - Beginners (2010) - 7.2

Goran Visnjic starred in later seasons of ER as Dr. Luka Kovac and he co-stars in the film Beginners. The film followed Ewan McGregor's graphic designer character as he reckons with his elderly father (Christopher Plummer) coming out as gay after he is diagnosed with terminal cancer.

The independent film is an in-depth look at a father-son relationship while also a look at their own separate romantic relationships as McGregor begins dating a woman he meets at a Halloween party (Mélanie Laurent) and Plummer begins dating a younger man (Goran Visnjic).

Maura Tierney - Beautiful Boy (2018) - 7.3

Maura Tierney starred in several seasons of ER as Dr. Abby Lockhart. She also starred alongside Steve Carrell as struggling parents trying to help their son (Timothée Chalamet) with his debilitating drug addiction.

The film is a dramatic and realistic look at addiction and how it affects the addict and everyone close to them who loves and cares about them and is based on true events.

Mekhi Phifer - Dawn of the Dead (2004) - 7.3

Mekhi Phifer starred in the later seasons of ER as Gregory Pratt and he has also starred in several films such as based on Shakespeare's Othello and 8 Mile.

This remake of the iconic 1960s zombie film again sees a group of survivors fighting to live during the sudden onset of the zombie apocalypse. Phifer stars as one of the survivors hiding out in an abandoned mall and trying to fight off the undead.

George Clooney - The Descendants (2011) - 7.3

George Clooney is easily the most successful actor in the cast of ER and has appeared in several films after his run as Dr. Doug Ross.

Clooney was nominated for an Academy Award for his work in The Descendants as a father struggling to keep his family and their normal life together after his wife's tragic accident. It's a dramatic and nuanced role that any Clooney fan will enjoy.

 Julianna Margulies - City Island (2009) - 7.4

Julianna Marguiles starred as Nurse Carol Hathaway throughout the first few seasons of ER. Marguiles has also starred in other television films like The Good Wife and has had a few starring roles in films like City Island alongside Andy García.

City Island is a wacky comedic drama filled with secrets and miscommunications throughout the entire film.

Ming-Na Wen - Mulan (1998) - 7.6

Ming-Na Wen portrayed medical student Jing-Mei Chen throughout multiple seasons of ER. She also voiced Mulan in the original Disney film Mulan while also having a cameo in the 2020 live-action remake.

Mulan follows Mulan as she chooses to pose as a man so she is allowed to fight the Huns in place of her ailing father. The film chronicles her time in the army with the help of her ancestors and new friends.

Anthony Edwards - Zodiac (2007) - 7.7

Anthony Edwards portrayed Dr. Mark Greene on ER for several seasons and was arguably the main character of the first half of the series.

Edwards has appeared in multiple famous films including Revenge of the Nerds and Top Gun that are also worth checking out, but he brings more dramatic acting and nuance to his role in Zodiac. He and Mark Ruffalo portray two inspectors tasked with trying to find the Zodiac killer throughout the film.   

Eriq La Salle - Logan (2017) - 8.1

Eriq La Salle portrayed Dr. Peter Benton, the stern surgeon mentor to Dr. Carter, on ER for several seasons. He appears in the X-Men universe in a small but pivotal role alongside Hugh Jackman in his final appearance as Logan.

Logan and Xavier help Will Munson's (La Salle) family and try to save them all from the villains and Will helps to try to protect his family and Logan.
