ER was one of the first and most popular medical dramas to air on television and closely followed the personal and professional lives of the medical staff of a Chicago Emergency Room. Maura Tierney starred in several seasons of ER as Dr. Abby Lockhart. She also starred alongside Steve Carrell as struggling parents trying to help their son (Timothée Chalamet) with his debilitating drug addiction.

Anthony Edwards portrayed Dr. Mark Greene on ER for several seasons and was arguably the main character of the first half of the series.
