Peacock has expanded its original movie lineup with the release of Meet Cute. The romantic comedy stars Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson as two strangers who meet one night at a bar and go on to have the best first date. It's such a good date that Cuoco's character Shelia continues to live the day over and over again thanks to a time machine.

Meet Cute has all the elements of a great romantic comedy with a few added twists making it a fun movie to watch. Fans of the unique twist and the relationship between Shelia and Gary might be interested in watching more movies similar in tone and feel. Luckily, there are plenty of romantic comedies out there that would fit with a Meet Cute movie marathon.

50 First Dates (2004)

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore reunited on screen in 2004 to star in the romantic comedy 50 First Dates. The movie follows playboy Henry, who finally falls head over heels for a girl only to find out that she has short-term memory loss and relives the same day over and over again.

Like Meet Cute, 50 First Dates relies on repetition as both Shelia and Lucy relive the same day over and over again. Since Shelia and Henry both know the repetitive nature of the day, they must come up with clever ways to get Gary and Lucy to feel comfortable with them.

Click (2006)

Despite mixed reviews, Click is one of Adam Sandler's most successful movies. The comedy follows Michael, a workaholic who has a hard time juggling his work and family life. All that changes when he is gifted a remote that controls time by an eccentric inventor.

While Click isn't a romantic comedy, it's a great movie for fans who loved the repetition and time loop aspects of Meet Cute. Like Sheila, Michael learns that manipulating time doesn't magically make their problems go away.

If I Stay (2014)

Scene from If I Stay

If I Stay is based on the teen book by the same name written by Gayle Forman. The teen drama centers on Mia, a young girl who winds up in a coma after a car accident that left the rest of her family dead. Stuck in limbo, Mia must decide whether she wants to wake up or move on to the afterlife with her family.

Both Mia and Shelia are contemplating staying alive, though they are operating under very different situations. However, both movies also play with time with If I Stay regularly, using flashbacks to convey what Mia's life was like before the accident.

Palm Springs (2020)

Palm Springs reintroduced the idea of a time loop to the romantic comedy genre when it was released on Hulu in 2020. The movie centers on Sarah and Nyles, who both end up in a time loop, forced to relieve a wedding over and over again while slowly falling for each other.

Like Meet Cute, Palm Springs begins with only Nyles knowing about the time loop until Sarah gets stuck in it herself. And like Gary, Sarah freaks out when she finds out and becomes determined to end the loops and get back to her normal life.

Plus One (2019)

Released at the Tribeca Film Festival, Plus One is an underrated romantic comedy of the 2010s that deserves more praise. Ben and Alice are two friends who are dreading being single during the summer wedding season and decide to be each other's plus ones to make their single-ness suck less.

While there aren't any time loops in Plus One, Ben and Alice's personalities are very similar to Shelia and Gus's in Meet Cute. Both sets of couples have great chemistry and banter with each other. Both movies feel very similar in that they're more focused on the relationship than on flashy parties and high-stakes drama.

The King Of Staten Island (2020)

Pete Davidson in The King of Staten Island

Pete Davidson made his co-writing feature debut with The King of Staten Island. A semi-autobiographical story, the movie follows Scott, a struggling twenty-something who tries to come into his own after his mom starts dating again.

While the King of Staten Island isn't a romantic comedy, nor does it feature a time loop it does star Davidson in a major role like Meet Cute. His characters in both movies have a lot in common, including being a bit lost in what to do with their lives.

Look Both Ways (2022)

Natalie Bennet; Netflix; Look Both Ways

Look Both Ways is quickly becoming one of Netflix's best romantic comedies. The movie follows two different versions of the main character Natalie's life. One, where she finds out she's pregnant on the eve of her college graduation, and one, where she isn't pregnant and moves to Los Angeles to pursue her career.

The dual timelines are one of the reasons this movie is great for fans who love the time travel aspect of Meet Cute. Both movies aim to answer the question of what happens when one manipulates time. Natalie and Shelia are also both similar in that they're both struggling to figure out who they are in the world.

The Time Traveler's Wife (2009)

The Time Traveler's Wife

Based on the novel of the same name, The Time Traveler's Wife centers on Claire, a young woman who falls in love and marries Henry, a young man who has a rare condition that causes him to travel in time. With Henry always in different timelines, Claire must figure out ways to show her love and get love in return.

The Time Traveler's Wife is the perfect dramatic romance to watch for fans who liked the complications that arose in Meet Cute because of the time travel aspect. Like Gary, Claire expresses frustration with her husband's time travel because it means they can't connect on a deeper level.

The Vow (2012)

Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum in The Vow 2012

In The Vow, newlyweds Paige (Rachel McAdams) and Leo (Channing Tatum) are happy and in love until they get into a tragic car accident that leaves Paige in a coma. When she wakes, Paige experiences severe memory loss that leaves her unable to recognize Leo or remember their life together.

While The Vow doesn't feature time travel, Leo finds himself in the same boat as Shelia in that they both remember their relationships with their significant others while they have no recollection of the relationship for various reasons.

Unplugging (2022)

Unplugging Movie

Released in April 2022 on Hulu, Unplugging follows an older couple who decide to take a break from technology in the hopes of reconnecting with each other. When they get lost in a remote mountain town, they must trust each other to find their way home.

Unplugging is similar to Meet Cute because both movies really focus on the relationships between the characters. With no technology to distract Dan and Jeanine and a time loop ensuring Shelia and Gary always meet, the couples are able to connect in new and exciting ways.
