The MCU's Spider-Man: No Way Home brought back the original movie Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire, for an encore performance as the first Wall-Crawler. But it might not be the end for this beloved version of Spider-Man. If Tobey Maguire is open to continuing to play the character, there are a number of places he could appear in both the MCU and the Sony Spider-Verse of movies.

The Tobey Maguire version of Spider-Man could appear again in the MCU, given the direction is heading in relative to the multiverse. He could also appear in animation and unexpected places in the greater web of movies involving Marvel characters. Though No Way Home represents a fitting end for the character, it doesn't have to be the end at all and likely isn't.

What If..?

Some of the likeliest places for Tobey Maguire to appear next involve the greater multiverse of the MCU. The What If..? animated series is all about the multiverse, and it makes sense that one of the many strange realities of What If..? could be the Tobey Maguire universe.

It wouldn't necessarily be the actual Tobey Maguire Spider-Man seen in live-action, though. It could be another version of him, as millions would exist, allowing the animated series to tell a variation on the character's story without stepping on toes of continuity.

Loki

The multiverse really broke open in the MCU in the season finale of Loki, when the Sacred Timeline shattered. One of the many different timelines created at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home could be one that the series visits in its second season.

Loki is sure to travel through many new timelines in the course of season 2, and it's possible that one of them is either the original Tobey Maguire Spider-Man universe or a splinter one, like the Green Goblin returning cured of his affliction.

Secret Wars

Given the persistent rumors about a Secret Wars movie in the MCU, it's very possible this eventual project also involves the multiverse as the 2015 version of the event did. It makes sense as a place the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man could appear again.

In the 2015 comic written by Jonathan Hickman, one of the most powerful variants of Doctor Doom collapses the entire multiverse down to one single dimension in Battleworld, smashing together many alternate realities into one bizarre but fun amalgamation.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse

Another multiverse-focused franchise is the animated Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (Part One), which has already introduced fans to many different variants of the Wall-Crawler in the first installment. Though it's animation, there's no reason it can't involve live-action characters like Tobey Maguire.

It's possible that the Tobey Maguire universe, or some variation of it, appears in the sequel. Miles Morales appears to be going on a journey through the multiverse that could potentially see him cross over into many different realities with many different Spider-Men.

Morbius

Oddly enough, Morbius is actually the most likely place the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man appears next in live-action. In a way, he already has. A poster of that version of the character appears in a background of a scene shown in the trailer for the upcoming movie.

Longtime comic book fans know Morbius is one of Spider-Man's most interesting villains (and sometimes ally). That uncertain relationship could continue in the movies if it turns out that the movie is set in the Tobey Maguire universe or a version of it.

Kraven The Hunter

Kraven The Hunter makes a fleeting cameo appearance in the cracks of the multiverse at the end of No Way Home and is set to feature in an upcoming movie from Sony. It's possible that the movie, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, takes place in the Tobey Maguire universe.

Most comic book fans are aware that Kraven The Hunter is one of Spider-Man's oldest and deadliest foes and with No Way Home, the character is set up to take on some version of Spider-Man. It's unlikely to be the Tom Holland version, and could certainly be Tobey Maguire.

Spider-Girl

News broke that Olivia Wilde is directing an upcoming movie set in Sony's shared Spider-Man movies, and it's speculated to involve Spider-Woman. It's possible this movie could emerge from the Tobey Maguire universe. In fact, there's a chance that it's Spider-Girl from Marvel Comics.

The Tobey Maguire Spider-Man mentions in No Way Home that he is still with Mary Jane, and they could even have a child at this point. That child could be May "May Day" Parker, from the MC2 alternate reality in the comics. This character could be the focus of a Spider-Girl or Spider-Woman movie.

Spider-Man 4 (MCU)

Depending on the direction of the next Spider-Man movie in the MCU, it could continue to focus on the multiverse. If so, Tobey Maguire could return in the next movie, perhaps as a mentor figure in the mold of others this Spider-Man has had like Iron Man.

Tobey Maguire plays something of this kind of figure in No Way Home, supporting and building up the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man in particular after he gets down on himself. He could come back to do the same for a lonelier and more isolated Tom Holland Spider-Man.

Spider-Man 4 (Sony)

Another fourth Spider-Man movie Tobey Maguire could appear in is his own. Spider-Man 4 featuring Maguire was planned, with The Vulture possibly being the villain. With Maguire now back in live-action, Sony could easily continue with the franchise if they wanted.

One of Spider-Man's greatest comic book villains is the Vulture, and though a version of him exists in the MCU, Sony could easily introduce another variant closer to the aesthetic of the Sam Raimi trilogy with a different actor in the role.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness

The upcoming Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness continues the plot thread from No Way Home of the multiverse and Doctor Strange and it's highly possible that Tobey Maguire appears in this movie for one key reason: it's directed by Sam Raimi, who directed the original Spider-Man movies.

The movie is clearly going to deal with numerous alternate realities, including ones that appear to cross over with the What If..? animated series. It would only make sense if one of them is the Sam Raimi Spider-Man universe, even if only for a brief cameo from Tobey Maguire.
