The show The Office premiered in 2005 to an immediate fanbase. The mockumentary style this sitcom series took on was something American audiences hadn't seen much of on television and very quickly embraced. This series gives its viewers a sense of being in on the joke. When lines are delivered straight to camera or office hottie, Jim Halpert spikes the lens with his classic "look" fans watching the show get to feel like they aren't just bystanders but active participants.

The series delivered lots of laughs every episode and the ensemble cast had such a range of characters that everyone could find someone to relate to. The show ended after nine successful seasons and is available to binge on Netflix, but here are a few other titles to check out in between your binge-watching.

Office Space

Steven Root as Milton in Office Space

This late 90's comedy quickly became a cult classic and has a lot of similar themes to The Office. The characters in this film are so distinct, with each having such a specific voice and point of view that when they all get together, it reminds us of all the moments Michael had trying to address his employees at Dunder Mifflin.

That and that fact that this film also takes the monotony of office life and makes it hysterical and fun to watch means this film is a must-see for fans.

Best In Show

Christopher Guest kisses his dog in Best in Show

Before The Office, there was a group of filmmakers, led by Christopher Guest, making mockumentary-style comedies on a range of topics. One of the favorites among fans of these films is the 2000 feature film, Best in Show.

This film gives viewers a behind the scenes look at the inner-workings of dog shows and the characters involved. It's set up to seem like non-fiction, but the characters are so satirical it's clear this film is a spoof, but nonetheless, brilliant and very funny.

Away We Go

John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph in Away We Go

Another aspect of NBC's hit comedy series that fans couldn't get enough of was, Jim Halpert. Jim, played by the talented, charming, and hysterical John Krasinski, is Dunder Mifflin's most eligible bachelor. He and the office's secretary, Pam have an on-again/off-again, will-they or won't-they, relationship for the first three seasons, until they finally get together.

If you love the way Jim looks at Pam and remember every sweet thing he ever did for her, then you must check out Krasinski in the independent romantic comedy, Away We Go, also starring Maya Rudolph.

Drinking Buddies

A lot of the dialogue in episodes of The Office is improved by the actors. Most of the actors on the show came from improv backgrounds, so they were always ready to see where a scene was going and to just roll with it.

When a feature film's dialogue is entirely improvised, it's called mumblecore. Mumblecore is an incredibly difficult thing to tackle, but the film Drinking Buddies starring Anna Kendrick and Olivia Wilde does it very well.

The 40 Year Old Virgin

Steve Carrell became a household name after The Office premiered in 2005 and he hasn't slowed down, starring in countless films. Just a few months after the series premiered, Steve starred in the comedy hit The 40 Year Old Virgin.

The title of this film gives audiences a pretty good idea as to what it's about. Steve delivers a laugh a minute in this feature, playing the title character. This film really solidified Steve's place in filmmaking and made him one of the most in-demand comedians in the industry.

License To Wed

This is another film starring John Krasinski that is very funny because not only does it star everyone's favorite sarcastic co-worker, but it also stars the late Robin Williams.

Watching Williams and Krasinski share the screen and interact is guaranteed entertainment. Both actors are so committed and so funny, that fans can't help but to love this romantic comedy about a couple trying to get married quickly. The film also stars Mandy Moore, who is equally as funny and charming as her male co-stars.

The Giant Mechanical Man

Jenna Fischer has spoken a lot about being cast in The Office. Before this series, Jenna was a struggling actress hoping for her big break. When Jenna booked The Office she was obviously excited but could have never imagined the amount of success her first series would have and how quickly she would become a household name.

That success has allowed Jenna to take on passion projects and make movies she believes in. The Giant Mechanical Man is one of those projects, starring Jenna and directed by her husband, Lee Kirk.

Anchorman

This series of films has a massive following and in the first one, fans get to see Steve Carrell before all of his success on The Office. Not only does this film have some familiar faces in it, which fans will love to see, but it also takes place in a work setting, only in this film, they are newscasters, they aren't selling paper.

The hysterical story revolves around a group of co-workers and how their perfect work environment shifts upon the arrival of a new female co-anchor.

Horrible Bosses

Everyone can agree that Michael Scott was not the best or brightest boss at Dunder Mifflin, but he had a good heart and always wanted to the best for his employees, who he considered to be more like friends.

Horrible Bosses is a workplace comedy that shows us what life could have been like for the employees at Dunder Mifflin if Michael hadn't cared about them or considered them friends. This workplace comedy is a bit darker than The Office, but still very funny.

9 To 5

For fans who loved the interactions between the ladies of Dunder Mifflin, Angela, Meredith, Kelly, Phyllis, and Pam, the film 9 to 5 should be on your queue. This is another workplace comedy starring Dolly Parton, Lilly Tomlin, and Jane Fonda, but focuses on strong, independent women and how they hold their own in a male-dominated office setting.

It's not only funny but inspirational and the performances by this stellar female cast are incredible.
