The show Lost premiered on the ABC network in 2004 and aired for six seasons until it's highly anticipated and still very much debated series finale in 2010. The series, starring Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, and Josh Holloway, to name a few, follows survivors of an airplane crash who are now living on a deserted island and quickly realize, no one is coming to their rescue.

They also realize that the island they are on is full of secrets and things to discover. The series is available to stream on Hulu, but in between episodes, here are a few films that fans of this show are sure to like just as much.

Inception

Inception is a science fiction, action-adventure film by the brilliant Christopher Nolan. The film centers around Cobb, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, who is a professional thief with an ability to steal information from his targets by infiltrating their subconscious mind.

The film addresses the theme of lucid dreaming and the power of our sleeping mind. Like Lost, this film delivers a lot of twists and turns and it's the viewers' job to keep up.

Cloverfield

Every season of Lost gives viewers a new villain in the form of man or monster. Early on in the series, the island and the passengers living on it, are being threatened by a vicious polar bear. In later seasons, other island inhabitants threaten everyone's safety.

For fans who love a good monster villain, Cloverfield, is a must-see. This 2008 monster movie, directed by Matt Reeves, is nothing short of terrifying and the way it's shot gives audiences the feeling that they are a part of the action.

Memento

Lost loves to play with timelines, and as a result, plays with the minds of their audience as well. The flash-forwards and flashbacks give viewers a clear sense of the characters they are watching, but can also really confuse viewers when it introduces a new element of theme to the story.

The film Memento plays with time in a similar way, telling a psychologically thrilling story in a non-linear way that will have audiences glued to their screen.

Six Days Seven Nights

Robin and Quinn in Six Days, Seven Nights

For fans of Lost who are looking for a similar setting, but maybe a lighter storyline, Six Days Seven Nights, starring Anne Heche and Harrison Ford, is a terrific option.

Anne Heche's character, Robin gets stranded on a desert island with Harrison Ford's character, Quinn after the private plane Quinn is flying crashes in a thunderstorm. These two did not get off on the right foot, so being stuck on an island together is the last thing either of them wants but may turn out to be what's best in the end.

The Swiss Family Robinson

There are quite a few references to this film over the course of the six seasons of Lost, so it seems appropriate to add it to the list. This classic 1960's Disney film, based on the novel by the same name, tells the story of a family escaping the Napoleonic Wars in New Guinea in the early 1800s.

After a rough night on the seas involving a group of pirates, the family finds themselves shipwrecked on a deserted island, which seems gloomy, but this family definitely learns to make the most of it.

We Are Marshall

Matthew Fox was a recognizable name in the industry before Lost, but this series launched him into a whole new level of stardom and opened up a lot of opportunities for the actor.

Matthew Fox brings gentleness and charm to his character Jack that makes fans root for him in every situation. He brings those same things to his character, William "Red" Dawson in the feature film, We are Marshall, also starring Matthew McConaughey.

The Rules Of Attraction

This film is for Lost fans who didn't root for Sawyer or care much for Jack, but who had their eyes and hearts set on Boone, played by Ian Somerhalder.

Boone has a sordid past but wants to be helpful and do whatever he can for his fellow passengers after they crash land on the island. For fans who love Boone's mysterious nature mixed with good-guy desires, the late 90's feature film, The Rules of Attraction, also starring Somerhalder, is a must-see.

Cast Away

Tom Hanks looks sad in Cast Away

This seems like an obvious go-to for fans of the series who love the setting and the suspense of the hit ABC series. Leaving your characters stranded on a desert island automatically creates palpable tension as viewers anxiously await to find out if the people will ever get off the island.

Very little needs to be said in these scenarios, as is proven by some great scenes in Lost as well as in the film, Cast Away, starring Tom Hanks as Chuck Noland, a FedEx pilot who crash lands on a desert island on Christmas, while on his way to Malaysia.

Another Earth

The storylines on Lost have a way of warping its viewer's sense of reality and making us question everything we think or believe about time and how we move through it.

A film that takes a closer look at our perception of where we are and what we're doing is Another Earth, written, directed, and starring Brit Marling. This film premiered to much acclaim at Sundance and in the same way Lost always seemed to provoke discussions and fan theories, this film will have viewers talking a lot once it is over.

A Perfect Getaway

For fans of Lost looking for something in the horror genre that guarantees a couple of solid jump scares, A Perfect Getaway, starring Timothy Olyphant and Mila Jovovich will deliver. This film is about a group of friends who decide to take a vacation together to an exotic island.

When they get to their destination, they start to realize their lives are in danger and as each one dies, the survivors become suspicious over one another.
