These days, fans have just as much power as studio heads, as a simple tweet with a demand from an unknown could literally get hundreds of thousands of retweets, leading to the movie getting greenlit. The prime example of this is Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which fans didn’t let go of for years, demanding the “Snyder Cut.” And to a lesser extent, it could be the Marvel fanbase that people have to thank for there now being an hour-long loop of Zemo dancing on Marvel’s YouTube page.

There are so many projects - ones that were either canceled or never in development in the first place - that fans want to see. On top of this, there are even R-rated versions of decades-old family movies that fans feel should get the Snyder cut treatment.

She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power

As the Netflix original series came to an end last year with its fifth season, fans are demanding a movie to conclude She-Ra And The Princess of Power. Instead of wanting a sixth season of the immensely popular show, #SheRaMovie was trending on Twitter.

But it doesn’t look like Netflix will cave in as easily as Warner Bros., as it has been close to a year since the final season of She-Ra and there has been no word of a movie or a sixth season, so a crossover with He-Man may never happen after all.

Batman Vs Deathstroke

Though they were given Zack Snyder’s Justice League, that still isn’t enough for DC fans, as they are now clamoring for a Batman vs. Deathstroke movie.

In the final scene of the newly released Justice League - a deeper look into Batman’s nightmare future - Death Stroke appears by Batman’s side, putting their differences aside to face a bigger threat. But there’s still so little of the character and this sets it up for something much bigger to come.

Hellboy 3

Ron Perlman as Hellboy holding a revolver

The first two Hellboy movies could be considered cult classics, as they performed poorly at the box office but those who have seen them adore them. The Guillermo Del Toro movies are extremely faithful to the source material and the practical effects are second to none for the 2000s.

It isn’t just the fans who want the trilogy rounded out, but Hellboy himself, Ron Perlman. The movie was in development at one stage, but as Del Toro wanted too much money for the budget, the studio instead decided to reboot the series. The reboot was hated by many and didn’t stop fans from still being hopeful about a third movie.

David Ayer’s Suicide Squad

As it was originally fans demanding “The Snyder Cut” that encouraged Warner Bros. to fund Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the fans of the DC Extended Universe now might believe that they have all the power over the studio.

They have stormed Twitter now wanting "The Ayer Cut.” David Ayer, who directed 2016’s Suicide Squad, has been very vocal about how his vision was messed with in the editing room, and there are reportedly hours of footage left unused, including around two hours of unused Joker scenes.

Solo 2

Along with The Ayer Cut, the Twitterverse is abuzz with Star Wars fanatics campaigning for a Solo 2. Though Solo might have its fans, and there is definitely potential for greatness in a possible follow-up, especially considering there are so many unresolved plot threads, the original movie lost tens of millions of dollars.

It isn’t feasible for Disney to make Solo 2, but not all hope is lost, as director Ron Howard has said that a sequel is still a possibility.

Batfleck’s Batman

Ben Affleck as Batman next to the Batmobile in black and white

Though The Batman will release next year, which will see Robert Pattinson in the bat suit in a very different-looking Gotham, fans want Ben Affleck to return to the Batcave. The actor was a great Batman, but many fans felt that Affleck’s tenure as the vigilante was unfairly cut short.

Affleck got the short end of the stick, as the troubled production of The Justice League put a pause on most projects, including Affleck directing his own Batman screenplay. However, though it’s extremely unlikely it will ever see the light of day, fans will settle for an HBO series.

Mrs. Doubtfire Director’s Cut

Of all the movies that fans are demanding of studios, many are versions of older movies featuring unused footage, but none are quite like this. In what is one of the most fascinating stories to come off the heels of the Snyder Cut is that an R-rated cut of Mrs. Doubtfire exists - the family-friendly movie about a father who poses as a nanny so he can see his children.

As Mrs. Doubtfire’s legacy is all based on Robin Williams’ performance and his incredible ad-libs, many of them were unused because they were just too graphic. Fans have been tweeting for director Chris Columbus to release it, but though that won’t happen, he has said that he wants to incorporate all of the unused footage into a documentary about Williams.

Dredd 2

Dredd is another cult movie beloved by many, and it looked like it was setting up a whole franchise, as there are several things that need to be wrapped up, but it doesn’t look like that will happen. As much as fans want a sequel, the first movie flopped at the box office, as it had a budget of $45 million and it barely scraped together $40 million worldwide.

However, though it didn’t perform well, it was loved by both audiences and critics, as the cinematography is surprisingly stunning, it features a fascinating story, and it features one of the few great uses of 3D for the time. And just like Ron Perlman, who wants to return to the role of Hellboy, Karl Urban has always been vocal about wanting to return as Judge Dredd.

Another Jack Sparrow-Led Pirates Movie

The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is going through a strange transitional phase, as there are two movies currently in development. One of them is following new characters, with Margot Robbie in the lead role, and the other is still unknown, but it’s looking unlikely that Johnny Depp will return as the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow.

Fans of the series have strong feelings about this, with many claiming that the ship will sink without Depp in the lead role.

Spider-Man 4

Though many fans felt that Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 wasn’t great, Spider-Man 4 was actually in development with the director at the helm before it was unjustly canceled. Raimi has said that he wanted to make amends for the underwhelming third movie, and it would have featured Vulture as the villain.

Fans want it now more than ever, considering that Maguire may be showing up in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and there’s even a petition on Change.org about it. However, unlike every other movie fans are demanding, not all hope is lost, as rumors are swirling about Raimi and Sony negotiating.
