15 Movie Stars In Scenes That Made Their Off-Screen Lovers Jealous

Choosing a partner whose career requires them to kiss attractive celebrities from time to time isn't exactly ideal for most people. This would probably explain why we see a number of movie stars dating fellow actors. While some actors claim to be absolutely comfortable with it, not everyone feels secure watching the person they love cozy up with someone else on camera.

Our hearts may melt when we watch our favorite love scenes; but have you ever thought about how those off-screen lovers are feeling? How in the world do they handle being in Hollywood relationships? Seemingly not very well, as there have been reports of horror stories that led to fights, public feuds, and even divorces over jealousy.

At this point, it should be known that a lot of Hollywood couples met by hitting it off on the sets of their movies. There are people on this list who went so far as to interrupt filming after witnessing some uncomfortable scenes during production.

Here are the 15 Movie Stars In Scenes That Made Their Off-Screen Lovers Jealous.

15 Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool)

Deadpool - Ryan Reynolds and Morena Baccarin

Shortly after a breakup with Leonardo DiCaprio, Blake Lively hit it off with hottie Ryan Reynolds. The pair fell head over heels for each other, were married in 2009 and had two beautiful children.

In 2016, Reynolds took on the hilarious role of Deadpool, breathing new life in to the superhero genre. The film required Reynolds to have a series of graphic scenes with his co-star, Morena Baccarin.

During in an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Lively said she felt tortured having to watch those particular scenes featuring her husband.“It's kind of torture these days because I'm on a plane and every screen I see is showing my husband in a montage throughout the holidays with another woman,” she told The Tonight Show.

She mentions how the explicit mashed potato scene was particularly hard to watch.

14 Anna Faris (What's Your Number)

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt faced rumors of how jealousy and fame ruined their romance, when it was announced that they were calling it quits earlier this year. This jealousy could have started on the set of What's Your Number?, a 2011 rom-com that featured Faris being cast alongside Chris Evans.

During an interview with Sway In The Morning, Pratt expressed how he felt about his wife filming those love scenes with Evans. "He's so hot, he's so handsome and cool," Pratt said. While watching them together made him jealous, he has since stated that things aren't weird anymore. Since then, Pratt and Evans have both joined the MCU in prominent roles.

Unfortunately, after many sessions of couples counseling, they called it quits. Faris has moved on to her new beau, cinematographer Michael Barrett.

13 Ryan Gosling (La La Land)

Ruan Gosling and Emma Stone in La La Land

La La Land was both a critical and financial success, collecting numerous Oscars and Golden Globes in the process. While the chemistry between Stone and co-star Ryan Gosling appeared to be undeniable, Eva Mendes was not smiling behind the camera.

As Gosling and Stone prepared for award season, their flirty friendship quickly caught the media's attention. Gosling has said multiple times that there was nothing going on, but he reportedly had a hard time convincing Mendes.

It's been reported that Mendes constantly checked in on him, even making some occasional surprise visits to the set. The ever-so-charming Gosling isn't a stranger to finding romance behind the scenes, as he got together with Mendes while working with her on 2011's The Place Beyond The Pines.

12 Jamie Dornan (50 Shades Of Grey)

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson in 50 Shades of Grey

Dornan told US Weekly that he didn't want to make his wife uncomfortable while she was watching Fifty Shades of Grey. Dornan has been married to singer-songwriter Amelia Warner since 2013. The loving husband went on to say, "I won't be able to sit there myself."

Dornan played Christian Grey, billionaire and eccentric love interest to Anastasia Steele, played by Dakota Johnson. When rumors surfaced that Angelina Jolie might direct the movie, Amelia allegedly banned Dornan from working with her. While this reportedly caused friction between the couple, Jolie ended up passing on the project.

On top of that, there were rumors of Dornan getting close with Johnson on-set. However, this shouldn't come as a surprise when the source material is as steamy as Fifty Shades. It seems inevitable the main leads would be put in some pretty awkward positions. Hopefully, this one is just a rumor, since we doubt the co-stars even like each other.

11 Anna Paquin (True Blood)

True Blood

It must be hard for actors to get in the right mind set during any love scene, but even more so if the actor and director are themselves a couple. Anna Paquin says things are usually comfortable on the set of True Blood, but there was one time when things got a little weird. Stephen Moyer, Paquin's husband, was directing an episode of the series that featured an intimate scene between Paquin and co-star Joe Manganiello.

Surprisingly, the married couple have stated that it was totally fine. In an interview with People, Paquin went on record saying “It’s not as awkward as you would think.” Similarly, Moyer said he was able to disassociate completely, even encouraging his wife to get in to it.

10 Billy Bob Thornton (Monster's Ball)

Halle Berry in Monster's Ball - Actors Who Bared it All

Billy Bob and Halle Berry delivered a scorching scene in Monster's Ball. Many people consider it to be an iconic moment in cinema history and Berry ended up winning the Oscar in 2001.

At the time, Thornton was married to Angelina Jolie. They lived a mysterious life together that included wearing vials of each other's blood around their necks. Once, he allegedly called Jolie to give her details about the controversial scene and it fueled her jealousy. This reportedly was the final straw as they split soon after.

Thornton admitted his own insecurities probably played a part in their failed marriage. The recent split of Jolie and Pitt had similar jealousy rumors surrounding it, asking the question if maybe Jolie is the common denominator.

A year prior to Ewan's star-making performance, he married production designer Eve Mavrakis. His wife spoke about her feelings about the film during an interview years later. As a pregnant woman at the time of shooting, she describes feeling intensely jealous. "He had a sex scene with MacDonald, who's delightful. I was putting on all this weight, and she was a beautiful flower," she said. Mavrakis claims it took awhile not to tremble when she saw Ewan's co-star.

McGregor had countless other love scenes with the likes of Cameron Diaz and Nicole Kidman. However, Mavrakis claims his steamy on screen chemistry with Kelly unleashed her insecurities. His wife blamed hormones for her heated jealousy, claiming that was the first and last time she ever felt jealous.

8 Brad Pitt (Allied)

Allied - Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt

Pitt and his ex-wife Angelina Jolie met on the set of Mr. And Mrs. Smith and fell head over heels for each other. When these two mega stars announced their romance, the media labeled them as one of the sexiest power couples in Hollywood.

In his recent movie Allied with Marion Cotillard, the chemistry they shared didn't sit well with his wife. Jolie reportedly went as far as hiring a private investigator to follow Pitt and Cotillard when they weren't filming together. The investigator made claims of an affair, but the co-stars took no time denying all allegations.

After 12 years of knowing each other and two years of marriage, Jolie slammed Pitt with a divorce. A source told Radar the two became "increasing competitive in their careers and not in a good way." Will you miss Brangelina?

7 Ben Affleck (Gone Girl)

The 13 Going on 30 actress suspected there was something going on between her husband and Emily Ratajkowski, who ironically played his mistress in the film. They shared a few intimate scenes on camera that raised lots of questions. The "Blurred Lines" video vixen was actually handpicked by Affleck during casting.

Director David Fincher told The New York Daily News “If I was his wife, I think I would be very suspicious always--” Rumors started to spread, claiming Affleck was cheating behind her back. What makes this interesting is the movie plot started to mirror his reality.

6 Julia Roberts (The Normal Heart)

Julia Roberts starred opposite Mark Ruffalo in The Normal Heart. The duo shared some close scenes in the movie that reportedly existed on and off screen. An insider tells National Enquirer “If she wants a man, she goes after him, and she won't let anything stand in her way.”

Julia and cinematographer Daniel Moder met on the set of The Mexican in 2000. At the time Moder was married, but that didn't stop Robert from pursuing him. They hit it off and were married shortly after. As one of the cameramen on the set of The Normal Heart, Moder reportedly was furious with his wife's flirtatious behavior.

Rumors of Pirates of the Caribbean star exploding in a jealous rage surfaced in the media. Depp allegedly didn't approve of his wife’s uncensored scenes. He also allegedly believed Heard and co-star Billy Bob Thornton were having an affair. There was a disturbing report made of Depp writing Thornton's name in blood on the wall following his blowup. Shortly after this incident, the couple was divorced, leaving many people to believe it had everything to do with the aforementioned scenes.

Jane's wife and fellow actor Patricia Arquette told Aceshowbiz that she refused to even watch. Arquette went on to say, "that's my love, I couldn't watch that-- but I do know he's an amazing actor and I trust him."

The couple then went through multiple break-ups and finalized their divorce in 2011, following irreconcilable differences. This was Arquette's second marriage since divorcing actor Nicolas Cage, whom she was married to for just nine short months. Although Jane and Arquette are no longer married, they remain friends for the sake of their daughter.

3 Harry Hamlin (Mad Men)

Former winner of People's Sexiest Man Alive award, Harry Hamlin married Days of Our Lives star Lisa Rinna in 1997. Speculation started to surround Hamlin after he had multiple supporting roles playing gay men. The rumors surrounding Hamlin only escalated following his performance in Making Love in 1982.

According to GayStarNews, Hamlin’s agent claimed that because he was married at the time, he was the only one who could do it. Hamlin has admitted the role actually “ruffled” things in his career momentarily.

This wouldn't be the last time he played a gay man, as he later landed roles in Mad Men and Shameless that required some man on man action. His wife Lisa has been open about it and admitted how she felt on Twitter. “Yes I get jealous. I don't like it one bit, but that's the deal,” she tweeted.

Joanne Woodward is best known for her 1965 performance in The Three Faces of Eve. As an actress, activist, and philanthropist, her husband Paul Newman was also a big deal. When he was alive, women would swoon over his piercing blue eyes and gorgeous smile, making the adulterous rumors pretty believable. Surprisingly, his wife wasn't the jealous one.

Apparently The Silver Chalice leading man struggled with watching Woodward's on screen intimacy. During an interview he recalls Woodward doing a love scene in From the Terrace. He watched for a while and finally grabbed a two by four about twelve feet long.

When they finally yelled cut, an extremely jealous Newman whacked the unsuspecting actor in the head. Hearing the directors say the two shared a heat between them is probably what made him pick up the chair.

1 Britt Ekland (20th Century Fox)

Former Bond girl Britt Ekland famously survived a jealous feud with her ex-husband Peter Sellers. The Swedish actress opened up about her destructive marriage to the comedic actor. She claimed he had jealousy problems and wanted to possess her, but she was too naive to realize at the time. Her reputation as a symbol in Hollywood also made Sellers increasingly jealous.

Ekland was discovered by a talent scout for 20th Century Fox in 1964, and she happily signed a seven-picture deal. On one particular set, Sellers wasn't happy with Ekland's interactions with her co-stars. Selles then instructed Ekland to grab her passport and wait for a driver. Sellers never allowed the actress to return, which led to an ensuing lawsuit from 20th Century Fox.

Ekland says the whole thing felt like an abduction and describes how her enraged husband made them stay together. Although she was suspended for two years for the incident, the relentless actress went on to do cult films like The Wicker Man in 1973.
