In Thor: Love & Thunder, Gorr The God Butcher (Christian Bale) is an incredible villain capable of murdering gods across the universe. However, he has one major weakness, which is his dependence on weapons. Without the Necrosword and Thor's Stormbreaker, he isn't able to accomplish his missions, and to some fans, such a formidable foe shouldn't be that limited.

Throughout movie history, many other characters have been shown to have absurd flaws. To villains, such glaring weaknesses made it harder for them to achieve their objectives while to protagonists, the weaknesses resulted in them being unable to properly deal with various threats.

T-Rex Can't Feel The Presence Of Those Who Stay Still

Alan Grant luring Rexy the T-Rex with a flare in Jurassic Park

In most Jurassic movies, characters have avoided getting mauled by the T-Rex (or whichever dinosaur is the main threat) by simply staying still. This happens in Jurassic World: Dominion too where a character immerses herself in a shallow pool of water inside a jungle.

The argument provided in the franchise is that the T-Rex has a myopic vision. However, all its other senses are heightened and it should be able to smell anyone, including a person that's hiding in a shallow pool. Furthermore, T-Rex often comes really close to most people who stay still, meaning it can still harm them. Furthermore, most humans in the franchise aren't trained on how to tame or communicate with dinosaurs like the protagonist, Owen Grady.

Mouse Explodes Whenever He Eats Cake

A screenshot of Kevin Hart's Mouse Finbar eating cake in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

As avatars in the video game, each of the individuals in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle have unique weaknesses but Franklin "Mouse" Finbar has the most bizarre one. Apart from having limited speed and strength, he explodes if he happens to eat cake.

While it's a hilarious weakness, it adds nothing to Mouse's character development or his general appeal. The movie doesn't care to explain why exactly a simple thing such as cake would simply cause someone to explode. Moreover, Mouse already has too many weaknesses in the movie, and adding another random and silly one feels a bit extreme.

Megatron Can't Stand Cold

Transformers 2 IMAX Forest Fight Optimus Prime Megatron

In the first installment of the Transformers movie franchise, Megatron, the leader of the villainous Decepticons is shown to struggle when up against a wind chill. This happens despite the fact that he is one of the most powerful Transformers.

Megatron's fictional home planet, Cybertron, is at least four light years away from Earth (via Science Atlas). This means it's further away from the sun hence it's colder. For that reason, Megatron should be used to cold temperatures by now, and since he is generally overpowered, chilly winds shouldn't be a problem for him.

Hancock's Power Fades Whenever He Is Near His Own Kind

Hancock in his superhero suit walking past a crashed police car

Like Superman, Hancock is a very powerful superhero. However, his abilities diminish whenever he comes close to another member of his superhuman race. This proves to be a challenge when he falls for Mary, a woman of his own kind.

The movie tries to explain why this weakness makes sense. Hancock and Mary are the only last surviving members of the race since others coupled up, lost their powers, and eventually died. But if close interaction does indeed lead to the loss of powers such as strength and immortality, there would never have been the "thousands of our kind" that Mary talks about. None of those from the previous generations would have been able to mate and give birth to the current superpowered individuals like Hancock and Mary.

Po Struggles To Climb Stairs - Kung Fu Panda (2008)

Kung Fu Panda 2

Thanks to his martial arts training, Po can run at top speed and move very easily for a panda. However, when it comes to climbing stairs, he can't help but pant and struggle to reach the top.

The weakness causes audiences to sympathize with Po but it is absurd because he manages to do many other harder tasks. It's also emphasized that a panda has plenty of strength, so even without the martial arts training, Po shouldn't have a hard time going up a staircase that isn't even steep in the first place.

The Alien Is Allergic To Water

Signs 2002 Alien Face Close-Up

In Signs, one of M. Night Shyamalan's highest-grossing movies, an alien invades a house, and a priest and his brother then do their best to get rid of it. Most things they try fail until they smash a glass of water on it.

Since the alien in Signs and those of its kind are allergic to water, it would make no sense for it to come to a planet whose surface is mostly covered by oceans. It would be safer for it to stay on its own planet where there is no water. Sadly, it's never explained what happened to its own planet. Why exactly it chose to switch from a safer to a more dangerous habitat remains a mystery.

Tinker Bell Dies If People Stop Believing In Fairies

A vintage lithographic print of Tinker Bell with a magic wand

Tinker Bell is one of the most adorable movie characters because of her size. As for weaknesses, she can't continue existing if people openly express that they stop believing in fairies.

This particular weakness emphasizes the character's need for validation, which isn't necessary because she is brilliant in many other ways. Little is achieved by Tinker Bell's demise as it only justifies the beliefs of those who didn't believe in fairies in the first place. Keeping her alive is a better option as it makes her appear more resilient.

Imhotep Is Scared Of Cats

Imhotep screaming in The Mummy

In The Mummy, the resurrected Imhotep starts causing all forms of destruction, and the heroes try to come up with a way to stop him. They quickly realize that one form of protection is by having a cat nearby.

Once again, there is a good explanation for the weakness, which is cats are the guardians of the underworld in Egyptian mythology. But since Imhotep has already come out of the underworld, there is no reason for him to continue being afraid of cats. His resurrection means he has already conquered the guardians so a fear of a potentially harmless animal is ridiculous.

Marta Throws Up When She Lies

Marta Sits On The Throne Of Knives In Knives Out

Early in the murder mystery Knives Out, the investigating parties learn that Marta can't lie without vomiting, and of course, they use this weakness to their advantage.

It's not a weakness that should be mocked since the weakness is tied to the character's health. But it isn't a real condition in the real world (via Slate). This makes audiences question why they had to include it in the first place. Murder mysteries ought to be complex and the fact that investigators can tell when one person is lying only makes things much easier.

Jason Voorhees Is Afraid Water

Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees fighting in Freddy vs Jason

The clash in Freddy vs Jason, which is between one of the two most iconic horror movie characters, ends when Freddy uses water to defeat Jason. The event ruins what was otherwise a good movie.

Logically, Jason shouldn't be afraid of water since his preferred hangout location is Camp Crystal Lake. If he really was scared, he'd be residing in dryer lands. And since Jason and Freddy are both amazing slasher movie villains, fans expected that the demise of one of them will be more violent. Instead, the water angle makes it very tame.
