Motorola's Moto G Stylus 2022 has made an early appearance ahead of its launch next year. Most people associate phones with a stylus with only one brand, and that's Samsung. However, Motorola and the now-defunct LG Mobile also have smartphones with a stylus. Thanks to their mid-range specifications, these phones even sell for much less than Samsung's offerings.
The first Moto G Stylus phone was announced in 2020, and it appears that it was a success, seeing as Motorola followed it up with two successors this year. The phones fall under the mid-range category, which should be no surprise considering they are sold under the Moto G line. The included stylus for these phones is not an active one like the S Pen, but it allows for taking notes and the occasional doodling.
Motorola will be adopting a new design for the Moto G Stylus 2022, as shown in renders. The photos come from Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks) in collaboration with Prepp. The first design change is the display that now rocks a centered punch hole instead of a corner-placed one as it is on its predecessors. The rear also has a new look as the camera housing is like a giant pill. Surprisingly, the Moto G Stylus 2022 packs three cameras on the back, one fewer than the Moto G Stylus 2021 and Moto G Stylus 5G. The phone will keep the fingerprint scanner on the side where it doubles as the power button and will also have a 3.5mm audio jack. The stylus will be stored in a silo on the bottom of the phone. Alongside the images are a few specifications of the phone too.
Still A Budget Device
The Moto G Stylus will have a flat display that is 6.8 inches in size, which is unchanged from that of the 2021 model. The display will most likely remain an LCD panel with a Full HD resolution, but it remains to be seen if it will have a high refresh rate. It is reported that the phone may come powered with a Snapdragon 480 Plus 5G processor, which is a more powerful version of the Snapdragon 480 5G inside the Moto G Stylus 5G. In addition, Motorola should make it available in different RAM and storage configurations with support for a MicroSD card slot for adding more space.
The source also mentions the primary rear camera may be a 48MP sensor, but like the other details mentioned, it should be taken with a pinch of salt as there is no official confirmation. Motorola is expected to launch the phone in June 2022. However, there is a possibility it may arrive much sooner than that considering the Moto G Stylus 2021 was announced in January 2021. It should be available in the U.S. when it launches since the current models are sold in North America.
